Hierophant Arcane Blessing and Illuminated Devotion Rework

The Hierophant Ascendancy needs a rework in this route. Arcane Blessing doesn't feel like a replacement for Arcane Surge Support, in fact, most players use Arcane Surge Support for the Cast Speed even with Arcane Blessing allocated. I suggest reworking it to something like Tukohama's War Herald from the Chieftain Ascendancy, and Illuminated Devotion is useless compared with Conviction of Power. I would rework them to...

Arcane Blessing:
Arcane Surge grants 20% more Spell Damage to you
Skills in Equipped Body Armour are Supported by Level 25 Arcane Surge

Illuminated Devotion:
Arcane Surge grants 15% more Area of Effect to you
You are Immune to Elemental Ailments while you have Arcane Surge

What you guys think?

Arcane Blessing is more than busted enough as it is.
Arcane blessing is one of THE best ascendancy skill in the game...

20% more damage plus free arcane surge is quite ridiculous.

But I get your point...it just makes it WAY WAY WAY more powerful on an already-strong node

Also...they REMOVED the ailment immunity from illuminated devotion, why would they add it back on? Why do you say it's useless "when compared to Conviction of Power"? You can have both...plus they are totally unrelated to each other. That's like saying "Sign of Purpose" is useless, when compared to "Pursuit of Faith"

It's a lot more than that if you didn't know. The 20% more damage from Arcane Blessing scales with Arcane Surge effect. Get 100% increased effect of Arcane Surge? Well, you now have Aspect of Carnage w/ no downside. And you can scale past 100% too.

Arcane Blessing is one of the best nodes of hierophant, The 20% more damage can be buffed with "increased Effect of Arcane Surge on you". just from the small nodes and the arcane capacitor wheel you can get up to 130% increased Effect of Arcane Surge on you. a dedicated build can get way more.

Illuminated Devotion: yes this one is bad.

if there is something that needs a change in hierophant nodes is the interaction between divine guidance and Sanctuary of Thought, they are good nodes but the sinergy is terrible.

divine guidance gives "10% of Damage is taken from Mana before Life" wich is great for life-mana builds using mind over matter and then we have Sanctuary of Thought that grants energy shield...

whats more Sanctuary of Thought grants 50% less Mana Cost of Skills which is a horrible mod for many mana stacking builds.

personaly i would go with this:

divine guidance:
15% more mana
Transfiguration of Mind

2 branches will come out from divine guidance

one will lead to a reworked "Sanctuary of Thought" and the other to a new node "Sanctuary of body"

Sanctuary of Thought:
Gain 20% of Maximum Mana as Extra Maximum Energy Shield
1% increased Area of Effect per 70 Unreserved Maximum Mana (cap removed)

Sanctuary of body:
15% of Damage is taken from Mana before Life
1% of Mana Regenerated per second

Illuminated Devotion:
25% increased Mana Reservation Efficiency of Skills
50% less Mana Cost of Skills while you have Arcane Surge
Non-Damaging Ailments have 50% reduced Effect on you while you have Arcane Surge

is more a reshuffle of mods than a rework but it will open more builds this way.

Just talking about the immediate power of taking the node by itself. Yes it also scales REALLY nicely.

I like what you did with the two new branches from Divine Guidance. It feels like the separation of the old Juggernaut node that gives you Life regen + double armor from Body Armor. I would pick Sanctuary of Body for The Agnostic Keystone builds. I love to forget about my ES. Mana is love, Mana is life. But 15% of Damage is taken from Mana before Life instead I should add...

Sanctuary of body:
1% of Mana Regenerated per second
Gain 10% of your Maximum Mana as Maximum Life

In that way feels more unique. The little "MoM" is in Divine Guidance already.

a) free arcane surge (including spells that cost 0 mana!) that scales with %effect is one of the strongest damage-wise points on the tree. great for joinking with flesh/flame. it is busted as-is

b) spell leech/AOE/ailment reduction - it is pretty good all-rounder. it fixes what needs to be fixed and does it very well. 'reduced effect' is ofc worse than 'avoidance' but still better than 'duration'. alone, without any other anti-ailment investment it is 'good enough' and then it is reasonably cost-effective to complete the reduction

Hiero in general is cool, maybe lacking in pathing. brand node is kinda meh but in general - you could turn Hiero into anything but melee strike build :)

wanna see graveyard of Ruthless-compatible ascendancy nodes? check Gladiator.

Lol Gladiator is dead because bleeding is the worst ailment of all. Unless you can spread Bleeds for some kind of physical autobomber, or increase the effectiveness of bleed node in the passive tree, he will be dead forever xD.

i do not even talk about damage nor effectiveness

the blandness of these nodes is shocking. like, literally, i yawn looking at them

and then I check the numbers and yawn again

challenger charges are fun, endu/frenzy genration is cool (but not for bosses, no no), bleed explosions and bleed scaling in general - ok, but the block path is just pure boredom. i kinda understand why GGG killed spell block (but on the other hand they have no issue with spell suppression being better fortify) but what is left after spell block got removed is like used paper cup.

even counterattack builds are best played as slayer ffs..
