Omen of Blanching not being consumed

I put one omen of blanching into my inventory and used it on a 6L brass dome.

The brass dome received 2 white sockets and the omen vanished.

I purchased another omen of blanching and put it into my inventory.

I have used more than a stack of chromatic orbs on the same brass dome and it has never received any more white sockets and I still have the omen in my inventory.

I've tried moving the items around between stash and inventory and logging in and out, nothing seems to make the omen work again.






Update: I gave a friend the item and the omen and he chromed white sockets onto it where I could not.

I then made sure to chrome the white sockets off between blanching attempts and this is working as expected, so the bug probably has to do w/ trying to use the blanching omen when the item already has white sockets.

Another update:

After following the process very carefully I have again gotten into a position where the omen of blanching is not working, so there goes the above operating theory :(

I'm having the same issue with identical steps to reproduce. It's happened to me with a thicket bow, though.

You have to be in a combat area for an idol to work.
Go either in a map or any act 1-10 combat area with it and chromatic.

For anyone else having this issue and comes here, this statement is not true. Blancing omen does indeed (usually) work in your H/O.

I had an issue where the omen was not being consumed when I chromed it earlier, but I handed it to a friend and it worked for him. Done about 30 of these without issue before that one.

While I appreciate the snarky replies, I do not think this has anything to do with the 1 per combat area text on the item.

The reason I believe this is a real deal genuine bug, and that this report was not made as a simple result of my being illiterate, is that I was able to use multiple omens of blanching in one instance of my hideout (until I wasn't).

In order for that to happen one of the two must be true:

1. Hideouts are not considered "combat zones" and so I should be able to use as many omens of blanching as I want in one instance of my hideout without bugging my items out (this would be a bug!).

2. Hideouts are considered "combat zones" and so I shouldn't have ever been able to use more than one omen of blanching in one instance of my hideout (this alone would be a bug!). But, further, those omens should have worked on my items when I changed zones - which they did not at the time of this report (this is another bug!).
