Chasing Uniques in SSF is dead and making me hate the game (I dropped a Mirror)

So difference between Trade and SSF is just down stupid GGG
I set out for several Unique to farm and make builds depending on which I drop Guess what I havent dropped any of them yet But I got a Mirror Just kill me now please 1. Vixens Gloves Dropped an insane Staff from Katharina on first fight and switched Altas to farming it 2. Choir of Storms The Buffs wanted me to play something lightning related 3. Xoph Minion Helmet Stuff 4. Wilmas Requital I spent over 200, maybe 300 Gwennen rerolls on a lvl 35 Char. More than I could effort on Chance Orbs and tons of Ancient Orbs NOTHING I got a Xophs Amulet, even the Base Helmet. But im not getting any Blessings. Cool I got an Esh Blessing but no Amulett. I didnt drop a Wilmas yet either ---- I no life the game at times Its certainly not a lack of Playtime and also not a lack of trying... But that even with high odds set up, farming for several Build enabling Unique and getting NON after endless grinds is just the most frustrating gameing experience you can give players. Grinds need to have an end in a 3 month game cycle that makes sense GGG. It makes me hate the game so much for not rewarding me with SOMETHING I set out to get my hands on this league. You give us tool to set our Goals but those tools fail hard. Super hard. You either have to enter the annoying trade experience or never get to play builds because RNG said no. Argh But I got my first ever mirror drop so I got that going for me Sadly it just makes me disbelieve even more that I couldnt get partly easy uniques farmed by now. P.s.: Breach Rework Just restart with that please Damn the Blessing Droprate, Splinter rate... Just not fun Unique Cool. On Paper. Havent been able to find one yet I would like to try... This game is not even remotely designed to be played in SSF. It's more of an economy simulation than an ARPG in the first place. You aren't supposed to find items. The idea is to grind up currency and then buy what you need.

SSF tests the Games own Systems to its core. And they arent working even remotely good enough. Breaking news: Person confused their foot hurts after intentionally shooting it.
SSF is absolutely not a "game put onto its own feet". It's literally the same experience as normal PoE, but you're handicapping yourself by not being able to trade. Drops aren't improved, mobs aren't nerfed to account for reduced access to high tier gear, crafting isn't buffed to account for diminished resources. Whether you like it or not, the game was designed fundamentally with trade in mind, and GGG has gone out of their way to even make that difficult. By removing the ability to trade, you're making the game harder for yourself. I'd go so far as to say SSF is chopping the feet off the game. It exists purely as a challenge mode for bored players, same as Ruthless. If you want to find chase uniques, you need to give up on SSF. If you want to play SSF, you need to give up the idea of finding chase uniques. PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds. Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build! MFers found strength in their Afflictions. They became reliant on them. Bud if you are farming for uniques in SSF this league, you were doing it wrong because your challenge list shows that you have 20 total scarab tiers. Who the heck farms for uniques w/o using MF and scarabs?
I played SSF this league myself. Farming in it is fine if you do it right. |

You're just one single dude though OP, that's what the S stands for.
In all your time playing and grinding you're telling me you haven't found any cool interesting uniques at all? Your choice to roll into SSF is an implicit agreement to take what you are given, because nobody else is around. If you knew you wanted to play an exact build that required certain exact items, trade league was the place to be, or at least SSF and then migrate when you get to the level you need the items that you don't have yet. Try playing with what you've got. sigfault

Many here have mistaken my post for something else
I stated pretty clearly whats going on and why im upset about the outcome. " I played so much, I increased the odds as high as possible, with my only limitation being SSF (no trade). And with the game given tools itself I was not able to get what I wanted in a reasonable amount of time. With Items of reasonable Rarity. Funny enough, at some point I farmed me a MF Char and drop all I wanted with it. Kinda making MF Gear and Chars a thing a Player HAS TO HAVE to be able to play this game to its fullest potential. While I enjoy MF myself a bit, I still find this a sad state of the game tbh. That being said, we will see what PoE2 will bring. Im kinda sure this will make me either love the game again or leave for something else. As a harder "thats the way its going to be from now on" isnt possible as the PoE Exilecon today. |
