League mechanics are a bit mutually exclusive
Is this the correct place to provide feedback on the game?
I've finished act 10 and starting on the end game. I pretty much ignored the league mechanics that required more in-depth knowledge. I only played the ones that you can easily do like strongboxes, delirium, expedition... Anyway what I want to say is that I'm very sad that I have found that the league mechanics like incursion, betrayal, delve, etc, while they do give some unique rewards, they are not that special. They don't change your gameplay or power all that much. It would have been cool to have some special powers from every league mechanic that you can improve by progressing in the league mechanic it is tied to. For example it would be fun for one of the league mechanics to give you a follower that you can only make stronger by progressing in that mechanic. Or give you an extra item slot, or unlocking a 7th gem slot on you chest, or an earthquake ability that you gets more powerful the deeper you get in delve, and I can come up with many more ideas. Crucible is a very good league in my opinion as it actually ads something to the (itemization / power level) of the game. It's quite ool building a new (albeit small) passive tree on your weapon and shield. All league mechanics should add something, and not just be an "alternative farming spot". " Yup! This is the primary feedback forum. There's some other specific sections but mostly Art & Audio Feedback + skill gems specific section. Also some of these mechanics used to be more complex but were dumbed down after release.. Delve is mostly the same but content like Harvest isn't even a shadow of its former self. Incursion, delve and betrayal all have parts of them that can give massive player power.
Check your crafting bench, veiled crafts, curse on hit items, and damage done to chilled monsters. Its clear to me you just have a basic understanding of itemization and the game in general. Keep playing and research the power of all of the league mechanics. |

Regarding having a follower: That is exactly what Heist is.
It's funny that you mention incursion, betrayal, and delve specifically because I feel the exact opposite. These happen to be some of the MOST unique, most power-inducing mechanics in the game right now. Its those simple things like boxes, essences, expedition, etc. that are just currency printing machines with no interesting mechanics associated with them. Delve, for example, is an entirely new way to play the game. There is no other place like it in the game. Incursion is another massive power boost league mechanic: double corruptions on items and gems, uber powerful incursion mods on gear, etc. Betrayal is one of my most favorite leagues: again, very unique. Creating your own safehouse, making choices as to where to put each person, and some pretty unique rewards such as white sockets, aisling crafting, breachstone upgrades, veiled items, etc. I guess I don't really understand the main point of the post...given that you discount the most unique and far-reaching league mechanics and prefer the mechanics that are NOT exclusive or unique. |

" I would be happy to be wrong in my statement. And yes I'm quite a beginner. But I have drawn the conclusion after asking on the discord. And even you now, although you are saying I am wrong, you basically confirm what I said. The examples you gave sound like some items and or item mods. They don't sound like they add anything on top of what is in the base game. They are just some items and/or mods, or am I not understanding you correctly? My feedback was exactly that the league mechanics would be fun if they did more than just this, and I gave some examples from the top of my head which might not be necessarily good but just to get a feel of what I mean. And don't be defensive about this, I am not demanding anything. I am saying this is what I would like to have in the game to be more enjoyable and harder to get bored of. If not, no problem, POE is still fun, and when I get bored there are also other games. |

" This forum can seem a little rough at first and it can seem like you're being attacked sometimes when people disagree with the topic.. Given the complexity of this game you'll probably be surprised the reasons people have to be for or against some things. Just don't take things too personally here and you'll have a good time :) Plenty of my posted ideas were lacking some insight that others here provided readily and im thankful for it because it really is difficult to grasp every aspect of PoE from a single perspective. Thank you.
Again, I'll be glad to be wrong! I'll be finding out myself in the near future I think when I start doing the various league mechanics and see what I get out of them. |

All of the interwoven mechanics in this game is the main beauty of it. Consider trying to play melee in early maps in gauntlet without getting the phys damage craft on your weapon. Or living without the gravicious craft. These things give you early powerful options.
This game is something like this, when you start youre in a tiny cubicle with a couple of books and youre just trying to learn this language. Once you read the books you stand up and look around and theres just this library full of books all around you and one at a time you read the books and a lightbulb lights up. You think you know something about the game. Then you go to the next book and another lightbulb. the next thing you know 3 years has gone by and youre only about halfway done with the books. If you become addicted to that lightbulb lighting up you will main this game. If you like someone to hand you a pamphlet with all the information. Thats what d3 is for. |
