Monitor advice!

Hello fellow Exiles, I'm in the market for a new monitor that can handle both gaming and professional work, and my budget is limited to $200. I need a monitor that can handle fast-paced gameplay with smooth visuals but also has accurate color reproduction and good contrast for photo and video editing work.

I've been doing some research and have come across options like the Acer R240HY and the HP VH240a. Can anyone recommend any other models or brands that would fit my budget and specifications? I'm open to both TN and IPS panel options, but I'm leaning towards IPS for better color accuracy.

I'm not too concerned about resolution or screen size, but I do want a monitor with a fast refresh rate and low input lag for smooth gaming. I'd also like the monitor to have a VESA mount option for flexibility in positioning.

Lastly, I'd appreciate any tips on where to find deals or discounts on monitors in this price range. I'm willing to wait for a sale or buy refurbished if it means getting a better monitor for my money.

Thank you all in advance for your help and advice!

Where do you live?
That will be the price point factor.

I'd recommend checking out the AOC C24G1. It has a 24-inch curved VA panel with a fast 144Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time, making it great for gaming. It also has good color reproduction and a high contrast ratio, which is important for photo and video editing. Plus, it comes with a VESA mount option for flexibility in positioning.

But if you are still confused on what to buy then you should consider these resources from the internet.

Also, I own what's basically the older version of that 27" monitor I recommended... going on for nearly 3 years now. Sceptre is a good choice as well if you are willing to invest more money.

usually ips panel worth it over tn/va if possible

any 144hz panel is good, if 1080p you probably want to go 24" just for the dpi, but obvs 27" better for 1440p

also be on the lookout for freesync support or gsync compatibility (some monitors will have "unsupported" gsync support but still work fine)
