Internet connection requirements

Hello!

I wanted to ask; have anyone played PoE with 3G/mobile modem? Was it laggy?

Also how much is latency on EU servers?

Is it possible to play Path of Exile using mobile Internet? (surfstick or something similar...)

Since I don`t have a beta-key I can't try myself :)

Yes, aslong as your getting like 1mb/s download and 256kb/s upload I would say you should be fine. but you can also check your ping in game(aka MS), 200 or lower is good.

Goto www.speedtest.net to test it out.

I have freinds who have 3g connections, they are fine, in NZ....I dont know elsewhere, but maybee a google on local speeds can be found from your ISP with the service.

Honestly, My internet speed is like .30Mbps Down and .1Mbps up, and im not lagging that much.
I have played PoE on my laptop using my mobile as a hotspot with minimal lag. (USA Verizon)

Sorry to bump an old topic, but I'd like to know this too.

Does the choice of servers have an effect? because I have played diablo 3 using all servers, and my latency is always 200-300ms on a good day, though usually 400ms (which is already fatal before inferno got nerfed).

Btw I have 1.5 mb down, but only around 50 kb upload...

At this point I think it depends more on how close you are to a server than anything else. My connection is slower than yours and my lag is usually less than 100.

Your internet speed shouldn't matter, unless you're running a 56k. I don't think you're downloading/uploading from a GGG server more than like 10 mb an hour or something, so you could definitely run the game on a really crappy connection - provided it's stable. What really matters is your proximity to the server.

PoE isn't a browser game, so your question doesn't make sense.
