Action speed modifier

Hello!

Apologies if this is in the wrong place. Really unsure where to ask this.
I've recently returned to POE with my SO. Both following a guide. All good and well.

However, we found that a in guide he is following (for Impending Doom, I believe the skill is called) there is something about Action Speed. And he is to check his Action Speed value and insert it in some chart someone made.

As we understood Action Speed is a combination of different values? Movement speed, cast/attack speed, a bunch of other stuff.

After a bunch of googling around the only thing I could find is that this value is shown in the character menu under the 'Defence' tab.
But it's not there. Not on his character, not on mine, not on any skill or tab we click. It's just non-existent.

Anyone able to point us to where is this elusive action speed modifier? Thanks in advance and apologies if the answer is somewhere right in front of us!

Action Speed is a modifier that make your character do anything #% Faster.

It not movement speed, cast speed, attack speed. You can see it as your character does #% everything More Fast, even recovery from stun.

I'm not sure how it work with other mechanic like doom. Pretty sure it won't have an impact there. Other than casting the spell and moving around faster.
But Action speed can be found in a few way. I remember the change something but back then you could find a weak actions speed modifier on boot. (I think 8%)
Otherwise you also have the acceleration shrine that give 50% action speed.

Action speed modifies the animation speed of the actions you perform. It is effectively a more modifier for movement/attack/cast/etc speed, but it does not modify those stats directly.

Edit: Also, you will not see action speed in your Defence tab unless it is being modified by something. It will show up if you have something such as a chill or temporal chains on you reducing it, or if you have something like Tailwind on you increasing it. Unmodified base action speed doesn't appear there at all.
