Latency extremely variable in most zones

I have been keeping an eye on my latency value in zones as I've been leveling and I'm having instances where I'm rubber banding, where I cast flame dash and end up where I started with the trail in front of me, etc.

It'll sit at 13 ms for a while and then spike to 600 and then back down and then back up all within a few seconds.

I ran WinMTR for a few minutes and pasted the results in pastebin: https://pastebin.com/yfQbpCya

What can I do to have more consistent latency?

turn your router off for a few minutes then try again? seriously...the problem looks to be at the first hop (the router) where you pick up packet loss and latency is spiking to near 100ms (while the test ran anyway)

If you still have the problem after power cycling the router, run the test again and if the problem on the first hop is still there then you would need to contact your isp.

I power cycled the router earlier today and things did improve temporarily, although I don't have enough data to say it was the reset that helped. Can't do it right this second as my wife is in the middle of her own session. Will post back later.

Alright, came back to this after unplugging the router for ~5 mins. First zone after I came bacK:

The instance felt pretty smooth for a while and then I started to see latency spiking again.

Super weird if it's a hardware issue, PoE is the only game where I am experiencing these issues.
You have packet loss beginning at your router.

Would it be possible to switch from using WiFi to an Ethernet cable?

I'm already hard wired. I ordered a replacement cable that's supposed to show up today.
Also, you may want to look around and see if there are any firmware updates for that router as well. Wait to see though if that new cable helps.

That's with a cable? Christ.

Are there any signs of damage anywhere along it? Might be overly optimistic, but have you tried removing it from each end, and reinserting it? Occasionally a cable will become loose for whatever reason. Failing that... well, if that's with a cable, would your PC happen to have a wireless adapter?

Out of curiosity I tried gathering some data after changing ports on the router. So far it feels better but still seeing some packet loss.

I also checked on the firmware question, I found guidance from the manufacturer that my firmware is unable to be updated by the user and has to be through the ISP. So we'll see where new cable gets me.

It's a 50ft cable that is just coiled up and I don't see any obvious damage. It is ~8 years old so idk if there's some damage from pets or mice or something I'm not seeing.
