My char uses an unique bow.. i cant do any CRUCIBLE CONTENT, please read

Before someone starts telling me about the items that i can have on swap or that very endgame forge thingy for unique items, hear me out here:

The moment i equipped my IRON COMMANDER unique bow for my ballista build, everytime i encounter a a crucible altar there was nothing for me to do!!!. I picked up some random rares just to use the crucible league mechanic, and thats it..

Is there a way to profit or earn something out of these crucible altars on maps if all my current builds revolve around various unique bows and quivers??

You can swap out the bow for the weapon you are trying to get skill tree for, then once activated swap bow back.

You mean non-unique weapons on your swap slot and inventory are not detected by the mechanic once a unique bow is equipped? That shouldn't happen in my understanding of the league mechanic. Unique weapons cannot be forged by the mechanic outside of one special new zone, but equipping it shouldn't prevent us from using it for other weapons in our inventory when we interact with the mechanic in other areas apart from that new zone.
