Beyond spawning question

Never tried it properly, but the small notables on the atlas tree, beyond portal chance, would they make the map mobs act like the otherworldly modifier?

Or do I still need to force that beyond modifier to get beyond monsters to spawn off kills?

Node says, Slaying Enemies in your Maps has a 15% increased chance to spawn a Beyond Portal, so would I get 30% chance to spawn beyond portals and mobs off both?
