Double essence mod with suffixes cannot be changed...?

If I craft an item with an essence-only suffix, get another suffix and then craft "suffixes cannot be changed" on top, if I craft it again with another essence, will it add another suffix, or does the crafted mod makes it so that you can't add more suffixes? By the wording, it implies to me that you can't change suffixes anymore, wich doesn't include adding another one, if it still has space for. I would experiment with that but it's too expensive for me lol

"Suffixes/prefixes cannot be changed" does not prevent a new mod from being added but essences ignore meta mods.

As seaman says, if you throw an essence on such an item, it will reroll the whole item.

AFAIK fracturing is the only way to get 2 Essence mods onto an item in current non-Ruthless Sanctum league.
