SOLVED: Can't launch Path of Exile - Immediate Visual C++ Runtime Error before GGG logo even.
I had taken a bit of a break from the league to check out some other games on my list but went to login today and can't seem to even launch path of exile.
The screen goes black, and I hear the windows error popup sound, sometimes need to alt tab to select that error window and hit "enter" to close it even. Things I've already tried, nothing so far lets me even see the login screen. * Rebooted computer * PackCheck.exe (as admin) on the standalone version * Downloaded the steam version as well just to try that (and I've checked both standalone and steam versions after the rest of these steps too) * Deleted folders from AppData\Roaming\Path Of Exile * Renamed my Documents\My Games\Path of Exile folder to try fresh settings there too * Updated to Latest Video Drivers * Updated to Windows Updates (declining windows 11 thanks microsoft) * Windows Memory Diagnostic report is clean Any other thoughts? -- Edit: SOLVED! Browsing around through some other threads I saw someone mention trying -nosound startup flag: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3351636#p24901364 This gets me into the game now, and once it loaded I no longer need to run it with -nosound anymore. " OP has 30 challenges complete, his hardware is not the issue... Might be a Windows Update issue, or lack thereof. 😹😹😹😹😹

" It did 2 or 3 weeks ago before the patch. I assume everything is still fine, I only assembled this thing a year ago, so everything is pretty modern. |
