Huge Ping spikes in most instances

Hi,

I am experiencing huge ping spikes in some instances. First I thought it may be caused by bufferbloat and so I bought an EdgeRouter X from Ubiquiti and turned on the Smart Queue QoS function, which in tests completely eliminates the bufferbloat issue but still not the PoE ping spikes.

I ran the MTR for a few minutes and you can see the results in the pastebin: https://pastebin.com/auRjML8X

I can see that it is apparently something after Frankfurt (?), but switching to any other server also does not help.

I am connected via ethernet cable and also tried the basic stuff to restart, switch cables and trying other ports - which all failed to resolve the issue.

Connection is around 90Mbit/s down and 25MBit/s up.

This also seems to happen randomly - sometimes I watch Twitch on my second monitor while playing and it's unaffected. Sometimes it happens even without watching anything and the overall bandwith being used less than 5%.

Any ideas what else I can try? Because quite frankly this is ruining the game for me at the moment. I tried playing with predictive as an option which plays a bit better but now I am rubber banding all the time which is also kinda unplayable.

Board: MSI X470 Gaming Pro
GPU: 12GB MSI GeForce RTX 3080
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700X
RAM: 32GB Corsair Vengeance LPX 3000MHz) - playing on 1440p, game installed on M.2 SSD

Saw the suggestion to play with VPN. Connected to nearest server (Netherlands) and ran MTR again:

Plays even worse tbh
With VPN i am constantly stuttering through the map and not "spiking" sometimes like before. Absolutely not a solution and I saw many others, especially with Magenta/Telekom as their ISP, having this issue.

Made a new discovery that lag spikes only happen when traffic is being routet over Frankfurt (which for some reason also happens when selecting Amsterdam as the game server)

BUT

As soon as I have the luck to connect with a "92. ....." server there are no issues or any kind of spikes.

I don't know what this is but to me it seems the issue is happening when traffic is routet over ae6.cbs01.xn01.fra01.networklayer.com

I have never ever experienced these lag spikes like you, but in the last days I have. I didn't change anything, but even in my hideout the latency goes from 30 to 10k+ and I get a dc... For some minutes in game I have no issue at all, and then in a second I have 1k latency, and gets worse and worse...

In other games I have 0 problems, I'm connected via ethernet cable, tried to reinstall the game, restarted both of my routers with no success...

I'm constantly losing values in the game by this problem :( Please write if you found out something, I think writing an email to a support doesn't help in this case, right?

Hey, oh yeah same I also don't have any network related issues in other games. But no the last thing I found out is that it's dependend on which instance server I connect. When I open a map, view the log file and see that I've been connected to a "159. ....." address I know that I will be having issues.

Opening another map may then connect me to a "92. ....." address which works then fine for me...

Also to maybe help you - I recommend following the MTR guide in this post and share your results here to make sure it's not an issue on your side:

Okay - last update for today haha

Found out that the best solution right now for me is to play on Moscow Gateway. Constant 55 Ping without spikes at all. Very much playable, but not optimal of course..
Maybe that helps some of you also that are having the exact issue.
