First response that comes to mind - how long is a piece of string?
There really is no "best" class for a new player, however, some classes might be easier than others to start with. What type of skills do you want to use, spells or attacks? A Witch is one of the easiest to start with, whether as a spell-caster or a minion summoner. There are some good build guides here in the forums under each class. 😹😹😹😹😹
I do not and will not use TFT. Gaming Granny :D 🐢🐢🐢🪲🪲🪲 |

Considering typical build weaknesses of new players, i'd say Juggernaut. Str based class means free extra life (new players almost always have too little life) and jugg ascendancy brings lot's of extra phys and elemental mitigation with it (which new players also tend to lack). You'll still have to get damage somehow and you'll probably get too little of it because you don't know how to scale but at least you won't die 5 times per white map.

Obviously duelist. Extremely powerful nodes close to the starting area, simple builds, ascendancy classes geared towards survival while also dealing damage, great variety of builds, including spell and minion ones.

You can start with anything you like because Siosa (Act 3) and Lily Roth (Act 6) will sell you all gems.
Spoiler
For classes outside the red bottom-left side of the tree, we can rely on Determination. Armour is best against many small physical hits. Then pair with Molten Shell because in a way, it extends your armour to work against elemental damage too. Inertia and Efficient Training transforms dex/int to str if you can't get enough str from your gear. Your defence is sorted till red maps.

New player asks about class and in reply gets answers that'll even make experienced players visit a handful of websites to understand what's going on.
Anyway, you'll have to fail a number of times to learn and find what you like best. That's how PoE works. |
