ryzen 5 5600x vs ryzen 7 5800x3D

To anyone that is interested, I did a very scuffed cpu comparison video about this:

I did white harbinger memory runs and compared how the performance looked with different amount of portals on screen at the same time.

TL;DR over all I would say the cpu was around 30% maybe more better performance. My guess is that this is due to the much bigger L3 cache on the 5800x3D.

This video with the fps dips show how garbage this game really runs even with a 5600x which is a pretty modern and typical cpu for the average gamer. You can easily halve these results playing with friends and in juicier maps. In my country the 5800x3D is almost 4x the price of the 5600x.

This game is very cpu dependant and thankfully it does run better with cpu upgrades, but as shown even a mid to high end cpu will struggle to obtain 144+ fps playing solo, let's not even add a group of friends joining and even more juicy maps. The fps drops and inconsistencies is just bad with both cpus, quite a shame really.

The 5600x is a sweet spot for price/performance especially coupled with a B550 board.

I run a 5800X non 3D and a Radeon 6900 XT, I had a 5600X before and in Crysis 3 saw an almost 50 FPS jump just from the CPU upgrade. I run 3733mhz DDR4 4x8GB.
Crysis 3 likes lots of threads.

POE seems to be using the cores on the 5600X a lot, look at the usage.
Also we can only see 12 of the 5800X3D's 16 threads in your video but the last thread shows 0 usage meaningPOE is using the thread limit coded into the engine which would bring better performance.

Some programs can't use multi-threading (e.g., when A depends on B. Can't do A and B together). For these, single-core performance is essential.

Also, performance on other factors as well, like, if a badly optimised MTX-wearing char appears in town then my game might start dropping fps.
