Fractured items. Can I use Essences without ruining the fractured stat?

So I have a Fractured amulet with +1 fire skill gems.

If I use a essence on the amulet the +1 fire will still be there and fractured and I can keep doing this until I get something I like?

I been away for a year and I ruined a 50 divine helm on console because I thought I could do something I couldn't.

So even though I am 99% sure I am going to ask just in case something changed recently

The fractured stat cant be removed.

So no worries and craft away

You can use anything you want. It will not change.
