Hardcore = Solo Self-Found?
Trying to get level 90 in hardcore, but I am hitting a wall in that there is nobody to purchase gear from.
Let me rephrase that - for accuracy. There are two people to buy from, who seem to think every item in the game costs divine orbs and mirrors. I could imagine paying double, or even 10 times the costs given the churn caused by items being "eaten." But 1,000x the cost? The only thing I can think of is running the level 68 labby to 90. Which sounds un-fun. But I don't see any other option. I'm slowly trying to craft gear, and one person was very kind and gave me a jewel. Two challenges remain, capture the flag and get 90 in HC. Having a devil of a time. Last edited by Sabranic_SilverDeth#2793 on Dec 26, 2022, 5:19:17 AM Last bumped on Dec 26, 2022, 11:27:49 PM

Why do you need to trade for gear to be able to hit 90? If just hitting 90 is your objective, you should be able to do that relatively easily on all kinds of janky setups. Unless for some reason you've chosen to do it on a build that requires specific items, which maybe isn't the best idea in HC if you're not efficient at generating currency. And it's a terrible idea in Standard HC.
You probably need to re-think something in your approach to getting where you want to go. I have a pretty good sense of humor. I'm not German.

I didn't bother with wanting to trade when I did mine. Just straight up did it as SSF.

" I'm doing Holy Fire totems - I had read that this was a good build to do hardcore that didn't need high end gear? As far as I know, there are no "build enabling items" but I am having trouble capping resists and getting enough hit points to not easily die. If you have any suggestions, I would like to hear them. |

Play minions. It's a lot easier to make it to 90 if you're not the one who needs to be in the front lines.
In the gauntlet, I had a lot of luck with playing a beefy Berserker. Just take a butt ton of life and armour and go slow. I should add: Totems isn't a bad play. The problem is HFT has no damage. It's a horrible totem. Last edited by TemjinGold#1898 on Dec 26, 2022, 2:48:06 PM

" Ah I see - should I level up some other type of totem? Definitely going slow - I am level 75 and just cleared act 5 last night. Last edited by Sabranic_SilverDeth#2793 on Dec 26, 2022, 2:51:22 PM

Lol that's REALLY slow. I meant don't run into crowds, not power level in the acts haha.
I can't see your characters so I can't recommend anything. If you are marauder, I'd go with an earthbreaker support type totem. If you are a hiero, Shockwave Totem is the same idea but MUCH better damage (get stuff to convert the damage to cold if possible). |

" Here is my gear: Potions: I've been slowly farming tier 3 lab, going chaos recipes to slam gear. Most of my uniques came from cards and Einhar. One nice fellow took pity on me and gave me a rain of splinters and a Lion-eye's shield. I sell the non-chaos recipe items to alterations that I use to roll potions with. Currently my chaos is only 71% and I am having a hard time capping it, and I don't want to proceed until all my resists are 75% - based on what I have read, to survive hardcore your resists need to be 75 or higher - or am I wrong with that? Here is my tree atm: ![]() I appreciate all your advice. Last edited by Sabranic_SilverDeth#2793 on Dec 26, 2022, 3:26:51 PM

Go to your profile and un-hide your characters, it is much easier to help you that way.
