What is the idea of selling something for 0,5 divine orb?

Why do people sell stuff for 0,5 divine orb?
How am I supposed to pay that?

Does it means that I have to look up the price for divine orbs in chaos orbs, then ask the seller if he is ok with X amount of chaos orbs?
Why not just sell the item for chaos orbs?

You dont have to look it up and ask if chaos is ok, typically when someone sells something for half of whatever currency, they are ok with any combination of currencies to equal a half of whatever it is they are selling.

so, for example, lets say chaos orbs are 150 per divine like last league
alt orbs are 3 per chaos orb
regret orbs are equivalent to chaos orbs

so

alt 3:1c
regret 1:1c
divine 150c:1d

so basically if someone wants .5 divine, they want 75c in this scenario

that could be 75c, that could be 30c and 45 regret, or it could be 75x3 in alt orbs which would = 225, or any other variation of the three

They want an equivalent amount = to chaos, chaos is easier, but typically they are willing to take other currencies.

The exception to this rule, is when you see something listed for 2.4 or 3.2 divine, or some other similar number greater than 1 single divine, sometimes the rule stands the same, but typically its 2 divine + .4 in chaos
Hmmm, since I do not trade a lot, I still need to figure out how many chaos orbs a divine orb is.

But I can just whisper them that I want to buy it for 0.5 divine and just put chaos orbs in the trade without asking.
Thanks!

Still, it seems a lot easier if they just ask X chaos orbs instead of 0,5 divine.
The official trade site translates into chaos orb value for the listing.

The reason people list it for that is because Wraeclast currently has hyperinflation. Divines are getting more expensive in terms of chaos every hour.

Also yeah, you can just go to the poe trade site on the bulk currency and click on the chaos orb icon on "I have" and click on the Divine orb icon under "I want" and itll show you how much the exchange rate is going for
