Before the weekend, we announced three events we are planning to run in the coming month while we get ready to announce our 3.20 expansion. You can check them out here. We’ve seen a few questions cropping up since the announcement and wanted to take a moment to discuss some of them.
Endless Delve Ladder ThresholdThe ladder in this event stores the position of who reaches a specific depth first. Players compete to get to this depth, and can then spend the rest of the time in the event pushing as far as they'd personally like to go (and to unlock level-gated random microtransaction awards). This means that we can run the event for a whole week, so that everyone gets a chance to take part, without forcing competitive players to play Delve for the entire week to maintain their position.Demigod's RewardsMany players have asked about Demigod Rewards as part of these events. A while ago, we retired the last series of Demigods to preserve their exclusivity. When considering a replacement, we wanted a reward that could be used in any league. Because the old Demigod items were actual items, they couldn't be transferred between leagues. They eventually all ended up in permanent leagues as players could only withdraw them in one specific challenge league one month after its start and then couldn't use them in future challenge leagues. When designing the Godslayer series that we have been awarding this year, we made it use the Microtransaction system so that it can be equipped on characters in any league. We initially were only planning to award them in Hardcore Solo Self-found versions of these events because it is the most competitive version of the event and players can't depend on other players via trade or carries. However, we understand that quite a few people would like to be incentivised to push themselves in the other event versions and in groups. We want to keep them scarce to help preserve their value, but we have decided to award some more Godslayer’s for other event types. The plan is to still award one to each of the top Ascendancy's in Hardcore Solo Self-Found in each event (19 total). However, we will also grant one Godslayer's Pride to the top six players (regardless of Ascendancy) in the following event versions on PC: Standard, Standard Solo Self-Found and Hardcore. To clarify:
Guaranteed Mystery BoxesWe previously announced that players would receive one guaranteed mystery box for reaching level 50 in any one of the events. We have decided to double this to two possible mystery boxes, with the second awarded for reaching level 50 in a second event. As each box now costs 50 points due to the higher average values of cosmetics contained and the removal of repeating rewards, this should be a comparable reward to three of the old 30-point boxes. This structure also gives you the flexibility to skip an event of your choice without feeling that you must play it to get all the free boxes. We're looking forward to seeing the events unfold. If you can't join the action, be sure to check it out live on Twitch! |

" I guess this makes sense when there are 20 people left playing. And it's still ridiculous that these events are voided. If standard economy matters to you that much, why did you ruin the whole thing with the ex-div change? Wipe out 10 years of wealth with a simple change without even asking the community, then void these events so that the standard economy is unaffected by the stuff people will make in a week. Doesn't add up pals. Personally I have never logged in to standard, because it's a pointless league to me but I'll still skip these events for this very reason. No one wants their progress to be thanos snapped, even if it doesn't matter in the long run. Last edited by auspexa on Oct 30, 2022, 7:18:29 PM
