Damage floating number and New Player Feedback

I came to the conclusion that be able to see the damage numbers does make slower pace feels better.. in PoE you dont see shit, so the middle process in between the mob be alive or dead feels like a chore.

Some people will say that it will bring more clutter to the game and I have to disagree. At the state of the game is right now you will only see a number once a pack. If the game gets too slow, it will feel way better tho. I only see it as a win win situation.

7 years ago some dev said that it was not implemented because people that dont like it would feel in disadvantage because all the streamer would be using it... but it feels terrible that everyone has to use a Third-party program to actual see the damage of your build.

Btw, my friend just tried the game for the first time this league and quitted before the end of act 1... he said that he could not feel improvement, since he could be doing 1 damage the entire time and the only difference is that some mobs could have 3 hit points. I told him about path of building and he laughed.

Well, thats it. I would love to see my damage increasing trough the game. At least a dummy should be an option at this point.

Damage Overhead doesn't technically help anything.

Not sure why the Devs would claim it's an advantage, even in old 3 Acts PoE.

TTK is the main stat you're looking for. In MMOs DPS meters helps with this. I actually turn floating numbers off when possible. They're just flare and don't really matter on a performance level.

For instance a meter would help show what a huge disadvantage melee is having to disengage and engage bosses. Something PoB nor Damage Overhead can do. When there isn't a damage meter I literally video capture and parse my TTK in games while theorycrafting builds.

Hits to Kill is kinda a side road of TTK which is also a decent measurement. This would be for DoT builds generally. PoB does help with this since you can calculate the Avg number of hits needed to down any boss or enemy you have the stats for.

Some people like to see big numbers. Make it a toggle. OG excuse smells like BS to me.
