I don't understand passive entertainment.

I don't understand passive entertainment. I raced motocross when young ran track in HS and still run today 6x a week but never watch sports. To me it's lame to watch, all of it - concerts, stadiums, movies, porn, and other forms of fawning over others. I like the internet and games somewhat - it's semi active so long as a comment section exists like here and games obviously you have input on situation. Anyways I bring this up bc my wife wants to watch movie all the time and I want to play games all the time.

Basically movies move way to slow compared to stimulation of active forms of entertainment where you are a participant IMO like games

Am I the only one like this? Anyways peer pressure works so guess ill watch yet another lame romance/comedy and fall asleep early byebye.

Git R Dun!

There are eight billion people in the world. You are not the only one who doesn't like watching movies.
there, there, buddy.

Yes you are an individual, and no you're not individual. Take solace in that.

You are unique.

Just like everybody else.
One could argue some forms of "passive" entertainment are about as passive as you make them: books, stadiums, porn... you have to complete books with your imagination, stadiums are more about belonging to a group and enjoying the trash talk against the other team rather than the game itself, porn... well i dont think you are supposed to be passive on porn... so to speak...

Even movies, for many people its about discussing, flaming or dissecting it afterwards, i tend to have most of my fun after i watch the movie when i read other peoples take on it and talk about it with friends
Active vs passive entertainment is mostly about the required energy output. When one has the energy to spend, passive entertainment is terribly boring.

But when one doesn't have the energy to do anything active, then passive entertainment is pretty much the only choice.

People would understand it more if you said active entertainment vs passive.

What your implying is that interactive enteratainment is more enjoyable because the participant is participating. While watching a simple tv show is like reading a book, where you arent participating, a simple receptical.

I agree, i watch tv on the tablet while gaming because tv no longer engulfs me
