Energy Blade removes around 43% of ES when you change zones

Each time you change zones with Energy Blade active you lose around 43% of your current ES pool. It's my first time playing this so I don't know if it's always been like this, but its super annoying and feels like a bug since you cannot start any zone with your maximum ES pool if you don't have ES regen/recharge.

EDIT: Ruled out Ghost Dance being the cause as suggested below, with this keystone unallocated the same thing happens.

Ghost Dance keystone effect perhaps?

Yes I have Ghost Shroud active, but I also have 7k evasion right now. I can recover my es to full when killing monsters easily, so it shouldn't have anything to do with Ghost Shroud, unless there is some weird bug that interacts with this and Energy Blade.

I don't see any wording that would explain this behavior, correct me if I'm missing something obvious. Cheers.

EDIT: I have unallocated Ghost Dance and it still removes 40-45% of my current ES when changing zones.
