Low life and not Low life

Hello,

I have a question about low life and not low-life.

Specifically these 2 interactions.

So on the PoE wiki it says this about low-life.

Low life is a condition that applies when life is at 50% or lower.

When you look at Esh's Visage(shield) it says this.

Chaos Damage taken does not bypass Energy Shield while not on Low Life.

So i assume that "not low life" is 50% or more

So here is my question.

I you use an level 21 Arrogance support gem which has a mana multiplier of 200%.
You can have a gem of 25%. Reserve 50% of your life. which is exactly half your life.

Meaning if you have exactly an even number like 1000hp, you reserve 500hp and you will still have 500hp left.

Does this mean then, That you can be low life and not low-life at the same time?

no, you cant be both

if lowlife is 'at 50% or lower', then not lowlife is "everything ABOVE 50%"

I kinda wish it could be both, since you can make it exactly 50-50 would make sense aswell.
