Archnemesis killed the game

The Archnemesis league wasn't fun to play. Not at all. The mechanic just sucked. But that's fine, it's just a league. We can't get good league every time. But the biggest mistake was done by putting it to core as a random feature. If it sucked as league, its now 10 times worse. It's meant to bring challenge to the game, but it does it totally wrong way. When random monsters you encounter are stronger than 10 Maven bosses then you have something seriously wrong. It's slowly stripping any fun out.

After thousands of hours later, I think I'm in crossroads of keeping hope up and leaving PoE for good. It's not easy because most of the game is really fun. The Archnemesis is just ruining all of that. I just don't see GGG going back with this. So maybe the hope is dead and I just finally must accept that I have been defeated. I thought that it's just the early part that you need to struggle with. It gets better I thought. No, it gets worse. Just worse.

The biggest problem is that Archnemesis effects everything. You can't just block/skip it like most other league mechanics. It widely changes the balance of every part and there is nothing you can do about it. Sure you could make a build that deals with that. But now you are quite limited, that's not fun. I like the idea of great challenge brings great rewards. But this is not the way. If the plan is to slow the game down, then make white monsters stronger, and not create some demi-god rares unless it's by choice of player.

They should just take out Archnemesis mods. Is just ruin the entire exerience.
Fact is that certain Archnemesis mods give rippy 1shot KO's and GGG does nothing about it. The problem has never been their defences it has always been their often ridiculous abilities and effects.

Most of the times I die it's to the sudden Heralding Minions/Herald of the Obelisk unattackable lightning totem spam.

Archnemesis league was actually much better than this "Joke of Kalandra" league:

1) You could choose which Archnemesis mods you fight.
2) You could choose when and if to fight.
3) It actually had good loot even WITHOUT THE LEAGUE MECHANIC (missing the strongbox drops, especially operatives strongbox.
4) It had functioning harvest mechanics.

Fairgraves was a slave trafficker specialized in the kidnapping and transport of children. He was not "a good man".
Just now I nearly died to the following:

1. A ton of mobs died, spawning the fire circles on death.
2. A rare AN mob with effigy had spawned an effigy on top of the fire circles. As usual, I couldn't tell what sort of mobs are in the area cause I was busy getting away from the circles.
3. I ate all the detonations, despite staying clear of them. Peak game design there, thanks for punishing me for knowing the mechanic but not instantly deleting the AN mob. 10/10, can't wait to die to this BS.

And that is just 1 mod on the AN rare, its not 3+ or anything.
