Game Crashes when entering Act 8

When I try to enter act 8 (The Sarn Ramparts) my game crashes to the desktop.
After a bit of googling I found out that apparently fire builds crash that zone. (That Information is 9 years old at this point) I played PoE since the beta and I never had this problem. Now that I decided to run a fire build, I cannot enter Act 8. My progress is stuck now. I do have a character in the current league that finished the campaign. I tried to enter The Sarn Ramparts on that Char as well - It also crashes me to the desktop. There is no error message either, the game just closes. " try this --> 1. exit PoE. 2. Run packcheck.exe as "an administrator". 3. Delete local PoE client cache files here --> C:\Users\"your windows account name"\AppData\Roaming\Path of Exile\ 4. Now start the PoE client again as "an administrator". Also make sure that texture is set to minimum and sound channel count is set to low. |

Update:
I play through Steam, so there's no packcheck.exe By rightclicking PoE in steam > Properties > Local Data I was able to repair my .exe Since I already have your attention with this post: I have a follow-up problem. I was able to play normally yesterday after fixing my game. Today a new patch went live and when I try to log in, I get the error message "An unexpected disconnection occured" after the usual "connectiong to login server" Now I'm stuck in the log-in screen. Can't play the game. Again. =( |
