Ryzen 7000 thoughts?
My rig is old enough it still uses the FX chip. It has done professionally exactly what I wanted out of it.
Now that Ryzen is going LGA with the 7000, I'm thinking of building a new system. Thoughts on the 7000 line up? Last bumped on Oct 5, 2022, 12:21:56 AM

Reaching 5.5ghz with even more ipc...
7xxx series will be massive upgrade. But i think waiting for 7th series with 3d-vcash is even better. The 3d cash on 5th series are boosting some games by 50%... Imagine that on 7series.. |

wait for the new mobo chipsets, which shouldn't be far behind.

Any Ryzen CPU would be a massive improvement over the FX line, not just for Windows 10 support.
Getting a SSD (if you don't already have/use one) would also help stability TONS. :>

Ryzen 7000 series will be massive improvement even over 3000 series like mine.
Over FX series it will be comparison between an bicycle and a spaceship.. |

The real question is whether the Ryzen 7800x with no 3DV cache beats the 5800x with 3DV cache for gaming. I'm waiting to see. If they're about even, I'd go with the 7800x, or wait for the 3DV cache version in (estimated) Q3 2023. If I had an old ass FX chip, I'd pounce on the new 7 series chips, asap.

Going from a 2700X to a 5600 recently was a noticeable improvement for me. FX to 7000 is going to blow your doors off.
