So ..... Chris just told us the percentage of Steam Players

With Chris's revelation that they achieved 250,000 concurrent players we can determine the percentage of Steam users by checking out Steamcharts.

151,145 peak on SteamCharts, rounding to 150,000 cause Chris's number sounded rounded as well.

So Steam users are 60%.

That still seems low. They posted profits of like 30 million usd so every single one of you would have had to pay a buthurt amount.

Seems like it would need to be more like a million players.
This may be true for opening weekend, but that percentage may change for any number of reasons later in league.

We'd need totals and standalone numbers for more datapoints throughout league to say for sure when we see <8k players on after a month, it really means <15k overall, or maybe Steam players quit faster because other games on their Steam list are right at hand.

Probably since alot of those players log out and get replaced by another player but the 250k doesnt go up. Not everyone plays 24/7.

I would think 2million is possible to maintain 250k on at any time. But this would be easier to guess on if you knew how long the average player plays per log in.

All bots run on standalone client as it requires one fewer account to create, so those numbers would be useless anyway.
Yea and to draw reasonable population conclusions you want a sample size of great than about 5% for large populations.

The "steam charts aren't good indictors" crowd has been super off the whole time.
