Arcanist Brand Not Triggering with Enchant

I am using the "Trigger Socketed Spell When You Use a Skill" enchant on my weapon in conjunction with an Arcanist Brand > Vortex > Assassin's Mark combinations (socketed this way from top to bottom). When I cast spells, the Brand indicator never drops, and the normal interaction when self casting does not fire. I have tried this with no other options linked (just AB) with the same result. I've also checked to ensure the Vortex and Assassin's Mark fire when at the top, and confirmed they do.
