Black background (sporadic flicker) since latest patch - 2973032592

Just logged on following patch. I have a full black screen as background. Can still move and see labels of items on the ground, inventory and character sheet still shows up, but the overworld is completely black.
Very sporadically there is flicker where I can see something.

I updated to the latest NVIDIA graphics card driver just a week ago and had not logged on to POE since. So can't be sure whether this is patch related, incompatibility with the latest NVIDIA driver or a combination

Update: problem seems to be Vulkan related. DirectX12 beta seems to improve performance

Sadly, DX12 does not work for me (all I get is black screen) and with DX11, there is insane lag making it unplayable.
