Freedom is an undefined state in reality. So defining that you are free has nothing much to do with what you are doing. just some food for thought.

Artists are free. The system isn't free. So revolution.

Underrated potential

perhaps you've heard the term "starving artist"

Not only that. as if artists aren't part of a system. And also not only that: there is no "the system". Outside of physical law that don't need human understanding to work there are neither rules nor systems. all that exists is build by us and so any perception of the individual may define a system for itself. So even if there was a singular designed system, every human would perceive something different in/with it.

That sounds equal. There is no system, only after equality. Than you may get as metaphy view as you want.

Till then tho 20 guys hoarded the worlds wealth & were all playing some outddated game titled " monopoly ". Where most of them aren't making new trends, or artists, or visionaries, they are investors & yacht loungers. Or worst, planet poisoners who maintain proxy wars. They aren't helping people with alternatives to the mainstream repetition.

Towns are rigged. Just like Diablo Immortal.
Same principles, same result.

Also not every artist is a revolutionary.

Utopia would have built mega gaming hubs with free wifi, floating zepplins, & greenhouses by now.
Yet their tryna make bunker dystopia happen from Mars.

Artists are not free. They are beholden to whomever is paying their bills. Just like you and me. Except that periodically, society decides that music, art, poetry, and the like are not necessary for human existence, or worse, that they are incompatible with shaping future generations of workers.

This happens a lot more with music and poetry than it does with say, accounting or engineering or patient care staffing.

The same ideology points to struggling, broke artists as proof, and says "That's why you struggle. Is because you're useless to society."

Meanwhile, back at the NFT Ranch...huge sums of money are moving around, sometimes in market-dynamic-defying ways, over the concept of art as a unique event that cannot be shared or duplicated.

Are artists somehow benefiting from this windfall? Not really, no. Many of the NFT images marketed this way are CGI-generated randomly from a pool of stock line drawings and fill effects via "mining". Better AI algorithms mean some artwork associated with NFT's has never been processed by a human input. So there's no artist to pay.

Music is also at risk of being eroded away by commodifying sound clips, mixing software, and copyrights to everything from voice acting tracks to public performances recorded before the age of radio. Public performance artists irrevocably lost much of their livelihood with the pandemic. Investment firms own songs directing unbridled hatred at corporate greed.

That said, soundcloud and deviantart and the like have liberated a lot of artists from indentured servitude and big-label prostitution.

So yeah, artists are freer now than ever before, but even that may not be enough to correct the relationship between art and society.

For the gaming business world. The player's are either undervalued, conned, or the marketing team doesn't sell for the reason of being a hobbyist themselves.

Almost like every business model requires a revolution.
Being sold stuff by those who ignore the majority of voters.

The players essentially over time, have to build their own game & be their own devs. Without better starter equality, the entertainment value of the environment is worth zero.
