PoE 2 release date? (I have not played in over a year)

Sorry for the question that has been asked countless times but I cannot find any real news about it online.

You can't find any news because there isn't any. It's not going to be this year, that's all anyone can really say.

Ok thank you :)
"We don't have a release date for Path of Exile 2 yet, but we're unlikely to start a Beta until 2022 at the earliest."

And that was last updated in Spring of 2021, IIRC. Midway through 2022 now, so I think there's likely still plenty of waiting to do... :D
I have a pretty good sense of humor. I'm not German.
It will be interesting to see what happens in the next few months. Chris has never been shy about the fact that Diablo is their main competition, and that PoE 2 will be going head-to-head with Diablo 4. Blizzard has shown their cards. It will be interesting to see the response, and I think a response is inevitable.

Chris knew well before the public did on the anticipated D4 release. Hell even a couple months ago it was leaked that D4 was being shared across the entire office to get polish. The basic game is done.

This is a total disaster scenario for PoE imo. They had to get PoE2 out before D4 to stand a chance. Hope that they would be able to hook PoE2 folks before Diablo claws got into them.

I mean really who is going to play a next-gen, brand new, arpg with a Diablo experience, and then come back to a decades old PoE where we are still in a shared maps endgame, but a "new" campaign? Its unrealistic (unless I suppose if D4 is a total trainwreck, which idk, seems unlikely)

Then again maybe this unobtainable deadline takes some pressure off GGG. PoE2 ain't happening in 2023, so perhaps they can just focus on other things associated with improving the core game. Maybe PoE is better off with 50-70% of the players leaving, and then re-focus on what's important to those that remain.

Maybe D4 announcement speed things up for PoE 2.

Competition is always a good thing for consumers.

They better get POE 1 to the level of D4. FUck POE 1 all the money i spent for 10 fps cluttered screen with 1000 mobs hitting you at the same time.
GGG thank you for all the great things you are doing. You have combined every element of all other great Rpg's and joined them together as one Diamond, that will shine Forever.

This is coming straight from the heart <3

You keep naggin' on about this "Diablo experience" as it means something after Diablo 3 and Diablo Immortal. It's like Coca-Cola; it will always thrive because of the name, and the hardcore Coca-Cola fans will always talk the talk about how much better it is ("experience"), while the rest of the world knows is just the name.

Don't get me wrong here, the name alone will draw in millions of players, but mainly because of the experience they created 22+ years ago.

I don't think this is a disaster at all for PoE/GGG. It is what it is. We all remember when they threw 6 new acts at us without anyone of us had no idea. I don't find it impossible that PoE 2 will see the light of day in 2023, even though I doubt it.

Personally, I think Diablo 4 is a little bit too "MMO wannabe" to steal the hardcore crowd away from PoE. There has been 23095873 "PoE killers", yet they're still here. We'll see how Diablo 4 nails trading, build diversity, character customization/specialization. Some of the paragon boards looks rather interesting. Anyhow, you seem like a true fan and a believer; are they still hellbent on dumbing the game down to "only" offense and defense?

Anyhow, for us as consumers? Well, competition is gold.

How's your system? I've had the best PoE performance I've ever had for the past two leagues, even in juiced deli maps, so I can't really relate.
