These New Mods are the worst thing to be added to the game.

Beastiary had its fair share of hate for mod combos that would create immortal beasts. But this league takes the cake. Ailment immunity, phys immunity, elemental immunity, chaos immunity, oh wait...let me correct myself...since its not immunity, its just high enough defenses to where the mobs may as well be immune. Oh and then you want us to use a league mechanic that makes things like that even more immune?!?!? Plus HH mods that make you snap across to mobs and things you had no intention of targeting? Mods that can be absorbed that seem like they do literally nothing?

Map mods that disable builds before at least had ways to get around them. Reflect? No problem theres a way around. Mad crit? No problem just add more defense to your build. Projectiles flying around crazy? No problem we can block those.

HEX PROOF MOBS THAT IGNORE YOUR OWN ABILITY TO IGNORE HEX PROOF???!??!
MAGIC MOBS THAT HIT HARDER THAN BOSSES?!?!?
RARE MOBS WITH MORE HP, MORE DAMAGE, AND MORE RESISTANCES THAN BOSSES?!??!

This league is just cancer...what even...

I never post on the forums, but this league...this league sucks. FIX IT GGG! FIX IT! I don't wanna have to play DD and abuse spectres just to play the damn game!

Uhm no? We cannot deal with it, our resources are limited, limited number of passive points, limited number of gem slots and limited number of affix space on items make it so it is NOT possible to deal with everything. This has been a fundamental problem with the game for a while now - too much shit to take care of and too little resources/tools to do it.
POE2 should be the ruthless vision experience and POE1 should be the zoom power fantasy sandbox to capture both audiences.
I petition to return all the fun stuff that was removed or nerfed over the years back into POE1.

Why would they copy those bad mechanics from last league though? Its bad enough most of my crew left that league within the first 2 weeks. My experience with it was "Oh look, here's a bunch of archnemesis tokens that can give you some good rewards. Ok cool. Load it up with a normal ass build, nothing even fancy, cold DOT, some minions, some ignites. 4/10 of the encounters would be some build breaking BS mods for several builds! LIKE WHO ASKED FOR THIS?!?! And yeah you're right the league MECHANIC is good, sure the ability to tune up some packs of mobs for a bigger reward, great. Being forced to use Flame Dash as your only mobility skill because of ice walls? (pretty trash for diversity ngl, and not letting us at least put second wind on stuff like Frostblink...yeah thanks for the illusion of choice GGG...)

70% ailment avoidance??! U fokin wot?!

I can handle the old mods where you could just figure out a way around, but this league they really went full tilt into putting on things that just brick people full stop. Stuff that makes juicing red maps absolutely toxic and a waste of currency in some cases.

the summary to the why is GGG doesnt like it when people have fun. chris wants poe to be a difficult arpg.

i personally dont like the AN mods. granted some of them are interesting, but i dont feel they add enough to the game.

I disagree I can name on 1 hand the amount of things that would brick a set up with the old mods. Those same bricks could be solved with either items, or a quick respec into a passive node or something close by your main tree that could be used to get past said brick wall. This league though, you can't just unbrick a near immortal enemy. And in some cases you can't even unbrick yourself to deal with a mod. They gave us tons of defensive options, but I think the lack of a skill pass this league was disastrous. We got options to defend all day long, you could even in theory make a character near invulnerable yet do 0 damage. Aside from those edge cases, a normal character is getting bricked by the mobs defenses instead of the other way around. We have to deal with stuff like

Well fuck anybody without stun immunity.
Consecrator
Well fuck all ignite builds.
Invulnerable: Actual invincibility

I'm not usually complaining but these archnemesis mods turn out driving me nuts.

100% chance of suppress spell
75/77 block attack(spell) DMG
50k armour 5k evasion
75% res plus 70% Chaos res

with all those defense and alc go, still keep dying like a lot.
I hate keeping dying so i just deleted my character.hopefully, it'll get better next league.

All the bricking hyper defensive mods that just make shit immune should either be thrown in the trash or put in the map pool that way at least we can throw our maps in the trash or sell them before encountering said bricked content...its dumb...

In the baeclast before the new league when talking about AN Chris was talking about the "genius" idea to introduce the new mods as a league mechanic to play test them and then implement them. He was really proud of the way they handled this implementation before the actual launch. He said something in the way of : it's hard to keep it a secret when we have these amazing ideas or something to that tune.

CW thinks AN was a stroke of genius, GGG thinks that how they introduced it in one league so people would get to know the mods to use them as a baseline in the next was inspired.

I don't think their ego can handle admitting that their "stroke of genius" was a mistake and throw away a two league build up. An is here to stay. Whether or not the players will be is to be seen.

Do you understand the concept of opportunity cost? Simply cant deal with all that GGG piles up.

If you spend passive points or item affixes on these new problems, then previously allocated damage nodes or item affixes are now taken. You end up with less damage. Vast majority of builds the end up with not enough damage and it all falls apart. Maybe for the top crop players it doesnt with absolute maddest items, but for anyone average its few builds left that are still being carried by numbers on skill or strong mechanics of such. Beyond this small oasis you can see vast bleak graveyard comprised of majority of builds that ever existed or could exist but are now dead.

EDIT: after examining your post once over I have to ask, do you really disagree, cause it seems to me you describe the same problem as I do? Only difference was you could avoid playing a map with shite mod but cant avoid meeting shite rolled AN yellows.
