Protective link + Versatile combatant is WEIRD
Okay let me just start with that, I don't know if this is a bug or not But it just makes no sense to me
Example: Player A has 75% chance to block attack damage uses protective link on Player B has versatile combatant 24% chance to block attack damage Player B will have 75% chance to block attack damage AND 24% overcap chance to block attack damage Player B will have 0% chance to block spell damage https://imgur.com/a/fZXvG2R But this makes no sense because versatile combatant removes 25% maximum chance to block attack damage so it should be 50% chance to block attack damage Even if this makes sense because "always" overrites negative values in poe (example Transcendence + loreweave stays 78% max res ) then player B still has 24% overcapped chance to block attack damage which should result in 48% chance to block spell damage but it just doesn't work An even weirded example is Player A has versatile combatant making it 50% chance to block uses link on Player B still uses versatile combatant still have 24% chance to block attack damage Player B will have 50% chance to block attack still 24% overcap, but still 0% chance to block spell damage https://imgur.com/a/16KoBdc one more thing The overcap on player A does not effect the overcap on player B Last bumped on May 31, 2022, 2:40:18 PM

The skill saays it changes the target's Chance to Block Attack Damage and Maximum Chance to Block Attack Damage, and does not include your Uncapped Chance to Block Attack Damage.
The 75% (24%) in the screenshot means that you have 75% chance to block, but your uncapped chance to block is still 24%. Overcapped values would appear like the resistances in the same screenshot: the values in the parentheses is greater than the value before them. If a mechanic uses the uncapped value, like The Wise Oak, it would be included in the description. |

" I understand but allocating versatile combatant should mean that you 1, loose 25% max block chance, and 2, your overcapped block will be converted to spellblock neither of these things happen, even if both players have the keystone. |

As far as I understand, all of the problems here are from the viewpoint of Player B, the one Protective Link is being cast on, correct?
"Overcapped Chance to Block is the amount by which Uncapped Chance to Block is higher than Maximum Chance to Block" Player A and Player B do not have the same Uncapped Chance to Block even with Protective Link, so there's no reason for Player A and Player B to have the same Overcapped Chance to Block. If player B has 0% overcap without Protective Link, they will still have 0% overcap with Protective Link. Maximum Chance to Block IS transferred by Protective Link, so the -25% Maximum Chance to BLock Attack Damage from the keystone is ignored while Protective Link is cast on you. If player B has 25% overcap or lower with Versitile Combatant and without Protective Link, and Protective Link sets their Maximum Chance to Block Attack Damage to 75%, they will have 0% overcap with Protective Link. |

" Yep, " It kind of makes sense I still find it weird though, also I wish this interaction would work it would make protective link actually strong in some cases. |
