Thinking of Trying RF SSF (help tips)
|
I almost always play the same few class`s but this league i want to go for a RF character but not sure what class to pick, im seeing builds for inquisitor but people mention its not great for SSF.
I Like my characters to be defensive minded first damage second, ive never played RF before but thats definitely what im going to try make work. Im seeing people saying Jugg or Marauder are better defensively. Really im just asking for advice and any tips. " This is supposedly an RF build that can be played in SSF: RF Inquisitor: https://youtu.be/GKdRYCt7gJk Bird lover of Wraeclast

I play SSF RF pretty much every league, and I usually go Chieftain, which is actually the (distant) second choice these days. Inquisitor is far and away the most popular option, since the consecrated ground provides good life regen and damage. It's also one of the few ways to regen energy shield while using RF. I think ~95% of SSF RF players went Inquisitor in 3.17.
Juggernaut is in a weird place now in that the defense buffs can usually be obtained elsewhere and the damage is lacking. It's still viable. I'm a bit leery of over-reliance on endurance charges this league until I see how Archnemesis modifiers are handled. If drought bringer is just going to steal my charges, or if I'm going to get the "enemies steal charges" map mod, I'll probably avoid endurance charge builds in 3.18 Chieftain should still work well enough, and I played it to level 97 last league. The biggest downside for me was having to choose between elemental ailment immunity or damage prevention, and I went for damage prevention. RF damage was enough to clear through tier 16 maps, but bossing took forever. Consider adding something like Fire Trap for extra damage if you can spare the gem slots. I've never played RF using a Witch class, though some people do, and I'd bet that Elementalist could work well enough. I might actually go *Champion* this league just to see if the defensive benefits outweigh the insanely low damage I'd do. Also, I'm weird like that. I usually try to switch to RF somewhere between late Act 2 and mid Act 3 depending on what items I have. The degen is scary, especially fighting Vaal Oversoul, but the damage is good even with barebones support. By the end of Act 3, you have access to Siosa and can get just about every support gem except for CWDT, Hextouch, and Summon Stone Golem. |

" that build looks really nice....thinking of doing this instead of what i planned |
|
" It really does. Wasn't quite sure what to do for this league, but after seeing that I'm gonna go for it. Always wanted to play RF, but it always seemed scary....not anymore. |

" i havent played RF before either...i guess now is a good time to try |

RF still is in the sweet spot, and the Essence mod on the map device makes SSF more viable than ever, so you definitely should try SFF RF this league.
RedHenrik said pretty much all you need to know; since Pious Path has been reworked Inquisitor is the easiest path even in SSF, with you sustaining RF with just your ascendancy. |

I did RF in 3.17 the pohx version and it felt amazing i tried several other builds but always went back to RF becuz nothing made me feel like RF did i was super tanky and had no real danger of dying to any boss my sustain was insane and i still managed to get 4 milion damage with RF+Fire trap and i didnt use ashes of stars so its not mandatory item but its really good for this build becuz it allows you to get skitterbots and you get 25% more damage from it basically 10% more trap dmg and shock 15% more damage
