POB: Please explain "Base Damage"

Hey there,

I'm playing Kay's Carrion Golem Build right now.

So, in POB to make things comparable, I always deactivate all settings in "configuration", deactivate all flask und set "calculation mode" to "unbuffed" etc.

With that, this build should give a "Full DPS" of ~ 3,7 Mio

However, my build is nothing near these values in terms of DPS.

So, I looked a bit closer:

One key point is, that the "base damage" from "MH Hit Damage" with the Skill "Summon Carrion Golem" is 430 to 645 ("base damage from weapon").
With this base, the overall damage is max 35k, compared to my 6k max.

My build has 170 to 255. I've deleted all possible factors, but I don't understand where to affect the base damage.

My guess is that this is the MH damage of the golem. But what influences this? I tried all skills in tree, all passive gems. I have no idea...

i can tell you where the base damage comes from.
the gem level of your carrion golem.
you currently have a carrion golem gem at lvl 17, with +2 from skills totalling to level 19

the other pob has a lvl 21 gem, with +8 to skills totalling to a lvl 29 golem

this is the vast bulk of the minions base damage
At level 19, your base damage is 26-39

At level 29, the base is 48-72.

that's only the "Golems grant (7-27) to (11-41) additional Physical Damage for Non-Golem Minions" part of it.

my bad. Finding out information about minions has always been troublesome with PoE. The spell that summons them and their own effects are always getting confused.

The game would probably be crapola if that were the case. No depth to it. Although many games with comparable depth, do a better job of elucidating how many bananas you get for X starting oranges.

I can agree with GGG making it easier to calculate, than to use a 3rd party program.

The complexity is already too much for new comers.

Heck half of my friends don't want to play cuz the game is too much to learn right now and they have no time for that even if they like games

I can agree with GGG making it easier to calculate, than to use a 3rd party program.

The complexity is already too much for new comers.

if you dont like to learn complex interactions and mechanics the game really isnt for you. Its a feature, not a fault
