How it fits the theme?: Kitava's Cove was a once lost pirate sanctuary for a group of pirates sworn to kitava. Treasures and the stench of those who lost their lives at the hands of this sadistic band of pirates is all that remains.

How it fits the theme?: Pirates are sailing ships. I made a carrack shaped ghost ship that I particularly like.

How it fits the theme?: After the destruction of Oriath, the skull of Kitava was thrown into the sea where it drifted. Eventually it washed on Barren shores. Around the skull spawned a strange forest which seemed to entrance the crews of passing ships to crash on the shores. The forest provided nourishment for the survivors but there was some deleterious effects and soon the survivors walled themselves off. However Kitava requires sacrifice. A deal was struck. Evil attracts evil and now the Siren of Kitava only attracts pirates. The pirates are enslaved by the battle hardened exiles, and their plunder stolen.

How it fits the theme?: There are whispers of a secret island. An island filled with all the treasure a sea fairing pirate could dream of. Few have managed to find it. None have returned. Glistening treasure fills its shore and beautiful women decorate the island. A beauty that may be a pirates end. The sirens call intoxicates even the most brave and dangerous of pirates, they will not escape, they will only scream as they are devoured.

How it fits the theme?: A creeping mist sets upon this bay, A paradise for the undead. The most lively place for a most unlively crew and their captain when they return from pillaging the seven seas and striking fear in sailors hearts.

How it fits the theme?: It's a space pirate ship! As rugged, steampunk and post-apocalyptic as I could make it. You got the captain's seat, the navigator table and the helmsman all in there.

How it fits the theme?: Wokou - translating roughly in "Japanese" or "Dwarf" pirates were raiders of the east Asia coasts during the 13th - 16th century. Historians and history buffs compared them with another pirate/raiding people, the Vikings. Regardless of their name, the Wokou were not only of Japanese nationality; eastern Asian Wokou - like Chinese or Koreans - were just as prominent. Besides the historical reference, this is a romanticization of their ship; leader's area + seat inside the map device room, two tents concealing the raiders and the front area of the ship where crew members can be seen taking a rest and having a drink. I tried to decorate the rest of the harbour with east asian style buildings and a marketplace acting as a haven. Lastly the snow is just creative liberty. The melting snow and the coming of spring means the pirates can start raiding again, plus I think it's a beautiful season.

How it fits the theme?: Just south-east of the coast of Corsair's Rest, close to Brine King's Reef lies the small island of Azura.
A few pirates landed here during the big storm of 1337 IC (Imperialus Conceptus) and have used the abundant resources to build a base around their stranded vessel.
Exiles, miners and researchers have since then traveled to Azura to explore the effects of azurite. History taught them that azurite was already used as copium by the ancient Vaal miners that lived on this island during the years of 777-420 BIC (Before Imperialus Conceptus).
Lately a few Kalguurs got scent of the bountiful supply of azurite on the island. They set sail from their home town to offer trade and wares to the pirates living on Azura.
Unfortunately the Kalguurs lead by Dannig crashed their boat and stranded on the rough north-west coast.

How it fits the theme?: Autumn time inside the catogropher hideout.

Welcome. This is the 8th of Iron Hideout Competition, a friendly event to race with other hideout makers or have some fun during the league. It's made by the community, for the community. No entry costs required, just good ole fashioned fun! Build a hideout based on a specified theme and enjoy some nice prizes!


This is totally unofficial and hosted by guggelhupf. Original competition is created by Pixxelkick and is previously hosted by FallMakesHideouts, PegasusRideR, guggelhupf and Synopsis.

Competition will start on 22nd March. Theme of this competition is Pirates! This means your Hideout can be anything and should try to reach at least 50% visible Pirate stuff. There is one month of time to complete your hideouts, meaning submissions should be made until 22nd April. Then our jury team will do the voting, which will take one or two weeks. Shortly after voting ends, winners and runners-up will be announced here. After the announcement, prizes will be awarded and shipped, which you can see below.

*Shipping prizes normally should take 1 month at most, but due to Corona this can even increase up to 2 months. Prizes will be sent with tracking and we will pay the shipping costs. Also, we will send prizes as gift in gift packaging with a note saying "Congratulations for getting 1st/2nd place in Iron Hideout Competition!" to avoid all taxes. Some countries will still ask for small fees, but these are very rare.

■ No MTX hideout bases or decorations are allowed. Meaning hideout bases and decorations %100 should be obtainable in game without spending any currency in the MTX shop. Challenge trophies, old benches from before the master update, rhoa dinners or other exclusive non-MTX decorations cannot be used. Also hideout bases, decorations and pets that cannot be unlocked anymore by normal ways(Like Ritualist's hideout, etc.) are not allowed. This league Sunken, Arboreal, Primordial and Enlightened hideouts are not unlockable so they are not allowed as well. These are to create equality amongst competitors.
■ Your hideout must be your own work.
■ Hideouts that placed in Top 5 in GGG's Official Hideout competitions are not eligible. Also hideouts submitted to previous Iron Hideout competitions are not eligible as well. This means in this competition we're accepting hideouts made in the past too, you are also allowed to update them!
Note: If you're using Synthesis decorations and made your hideout before 3.16.1 patch(11th November), Synthesis decorations will still be bugged and won't transfer over hideout file created before the patch. To fix this, you need to export a new hideout file and add the new file as an update to your hideout on Hideoutshowcase.
■ Your hideout must be safe to showcase(Nothing against Terms of Service of GGG).
■ Hideouts must fit theme of the competition. This means your Hideout can be anything and should try to reach at least 50% visible Pirate stuff.
■ Multiple submissions are welcome, limited to maximum 5 submissions per contestant.
■ We're using hideout files to record your submissions and at the moment there's a bug which makes not unlocked/unplaced masters spawn in random locations. Please unlock all masters and hide the ones you don't want to not-visible places like rocks, walls, etc. You can also make your hideout on standard where all masters will be unlocked. Sadly I don't have time to confirm places of all masters in each hideout and if you don't unlock and hide the unwanted ones, they will most likely be at random unwanted locations in our videos.
■ Hideouts need to be uploaded to hideoutshowcase.com with the final hideout file of your work. Sharing is part of this competition. Also adding your Path of Exile forum nickname to Description part in Hideoutshowcase link is required.
■ Using post template below is required. All required is posting your hideout to hideoutshowcase.com and linking it here, putting an image on top is allowed and lastly answering questions in the template message below. As we will be doing competition videos, there is no need to share a video. But if you like you can make your own video and share.
■ Submissions breaking any of these rules will be disqualified.

Each jury will vote for their top 10 hideouts. 1st will get 10 points and 10th will get 1 point in descending order. Then all juries' points will be summed up and winners and runners up will be decided. Voting will be blind voting meaning juries won't see each other's votes until voting ends. After voting ends, this post will change into an announcement post announcing the results and prizes will be awarded and shipped.
