Lost Ark does not have a lot of longevity if you do not like group play

Lost Ark is group dependent and very difficult at about 2/3rds the way through the western released content. If you do not like 1 shot kill mechanics and group play it won't have a lot of longevity. It is fun to level up and do some of the other mechanics but its not like POE where you can play all content solo. I like a lot of games including both of these but i don't see a game with mechanics like Lost Ark ending POE. They are quite different.

Isn't that how MMO is like?
"The launch day went quite well with just a few small hotfixes to address minor problems."

Heist League - GGG
In LA one can purchase straightforward increases to item level of gear.

So if your group does it to get further in the game, you should probably too.

And there's the social binding + cash grab. But only after some good time investment of course.

Did you try turning it off and on again?
Because it's wildly known that all MMO like FFXIV or WoW that require you to party to do end game raids and other end game content are ...unsuccessful?
forget that, it doesn't have any longevity if you don't crack open your credit card. actually no it has a looooooooot of longevity then sorry

His point is that it doesn't have long-term appeal for PoE players, who're used to being able to solo the whole game, not that it can't compete with other MMO titles. And since this is more about late game, they won't realize it right now.

Other than PoE, what game does?

Grim Dawn. All the arguments made against Lost Ark being similar to PoE don't hold for Grim Dawn. It just didn't succeed at it, albeit it did okay on its own terms. Ditto Diablo 2, Diablo 3, Wolcen, Warhammer Inquisitor, etc. All are apt comparisons with PoE. It's just that they all failed to do it.

There are several accurate 'PoE killers', it's just that none of them have killed it yet. Lost Ark, however, isn't one them. It may be more successful, but as many have argued, it isn't the same.

Yeah, no. No crazy trade. No hyper aggressive streamer culture. No real Live Service. Grim Yawn might have the ARPG chops but it doesn't have what keeps Exiles coming back.

You missed my point, which is that for a PoE player, and by that let's assume we mean someone who puts PoE above all other games the majority of the time, NO other game has long-term appeal for them. Not in the same way.

Especially not some Korean F2P MMO playing pretendies at being an ARPG. Come on. This was a no fuckin' brainer but apparently people really fell for the superficiality.
