Why does Arcanist Brand causes Flame Surge to be disabled in the UI ?

Hi,

Anyone know why Flame Surge skill gets disabled on my interface when I put Aracnsit Brand skill gem next to it (linked to it). When I remove Aracnsit Brand, flame surge skill gets enabled on my UI again.

I'm putting them in my 4 linked glove.

I'm playing on my character Aylid, I think you can see me (i.e. my glove has those two skills). It's public character.

Arcanist Brand will trigger linked spells. A triggered spell gets disabled for self-casting in this case. You would need to unlink them to be able to self-cast Flame Surge.

1) but Arcanist Brand doesn't have a letter notation like you see in other properly linked spells. Like you see 5 letters when you have a skill lined with 5 skils, etc.

I'm also linking Infernal Cry. So all three gems are linked but Infernal Cry is not disabled liked Flame Surge.

infernal cry is not a spell. it is a warcry. arcanist brand cannot trigger it.

You cant trigger warcries so thats why its still usable.

But how can I tell that Arcanist Brand is triggering Flame Surge? Arcanist Brand doesn't have any letter on it that says Flame Surge is linked to it?

What exactly am I missing here? I feel there is some gap in my knowledge?

Sorry to nag but how are you guys concluding this? Is there some in game icon or text that shows this?

Arcanist brand is a spell trigger and will as such trigger every spell that is in a socket linked to it, thats it.

There's no secrets here.
