Precise Technique Ideas

The new skill point Precise Technique seems over powered so I wanted to try it. Has anyone come up with a build to make it work? It's in the lower right part of the tree, I thought they would put it in the upper part of the tree to make it work with energy shield builds, since your life would be low anyway. But it's next to the Ranger in the lower right.

I was thinking a build with about 5000 life and 5000 accuracy rating. Your life would be low so you'd have to invest in mitigation; lots of Fortify, Spell Suppress, armour and evasion, blocking. Then you would need the Precision aura and lots of accuracy mods in your gear, you might need the Additional Accuracy Support, but I don't think you would.

Generally, it does not require much investment into critical strike chance and multiplier to beat out 40% more damage. And unlike Elemental Overload, this actually comes at a significant opportunity cost of roughly an extra 2000 accuracy for as much life as you suggested.

There may be some builds that benefit from it, but the majority will be better off with critical strikes in the endgame.

I tried plotting out a skill tree for the Raider with a crit build. It didn't look real efficient to me, mainly because there's no crit mods in the Raider's ascendancy. The extra 2000 accuracy shouldn't be hard to get with the precision aura and a few other mods for accuracy. So the Precise Technique just looks a lot more powerful, but we will see.
