Premium tab: price check
|
Hello
I have read the trade manifesto (https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2025870), and: "I understand. ^^ "Only if the casual/new player knows the value... The actual "difficult trade" is making disparity between players; there is 2 states of players: 1/pro: I know the value of items, I just put in trade stash tab and put the price. => I can get rich very fast and buy best gear before other players. 2/casual: I don't know the value of items, I must check price of every single item (many alt+tab, copying strange names of items), because even items with "useless stats" can be useful in vendor recepie or so. => Must spend too much time... I have an idea to reduce the disparity, not by lowering the pro player, but helping the new/casual player with values: The idea: In Premium stash tab, we can have a checkbox to hi-light items to sell. It would just check out the average price of the 5~10 lowest prices for any item, and then letting the player know the market-price, just by hovering the mouse on it. Alternative: when putting a price to sell an item, the average of 10 lowest prices is shown. This, will not be helpful for already "top" players, but really helpful for new players and casual players. Please forgive my non-native-english. Last bumped on Jan 24, 2022, 3:19:19 PM

You may not know this but even top players price check things all the time (for things that are worth selling) because item value changes from league to league and from week to week.
Your idea would only work for most uniques (most of which are not worth selling) and crafting currency. For rares (the vast majority of actually valuable loot), the tool you mention would have no way of knowing which mods are actually valuable at the moment and which mods can be ignored because those conditions change drastically depending once again on the league and the day. For players who already know which mods to check, there is a 3rd party tool that does what you are asking for. I won't name it in case that is against the rules here. |

Thank you for your answer. :)
I found the "macro" stuff on google. I am not going to use it, it is almost making a market inside the game... That must be against the GGG wishes (link I posted). " Hmmm the tool just need to say "hey, this item lowest price can make you rich!"; it can also says "unknown price"... But yeah, for "big" items, there might be a problem. ^^ Or not, GGG team may find a way. ^^ A "no items same mods on the market" would be a good hint for the player. In case of a "solid/not auto-update" feature, there is prices of items that won't change that much league after league, and even, it could just be updated once every few months; I've in mind the uniques, vaal gems. I don't know how many uniques there is, but, it's a lot. ^^ Right now, for me a list can help me (and any new players); "List of uniques to trade" or something more "wide", aiming items that a new player under level 80 can drop. Or a "most used items" page on the website, and for rare items it could be "most used mods on rare items"... It doesn't even need to be up to date, just regenerate the page every 1~3 months would be very fine. |

For rare items, the value is set by 2 or 3 mods. Then perhaps adjusted slightly by another mod or two. An automatic tool would have no way of knowing which 2 or 3 mods are critical for defining the market value.
Over 430 threads discussing labyrinth problems with over 1040 posters in support (thread # 1702621) Thank you all! GGG will implement a different method for ascension in PoE2. Retired!

prices on poe.trade and pathofexile.com/trade are not usable for anything cause people advertise items too cheap and don't sell them to obfuscate the real item price which is higher. it's called "fake selling".
they then buy off items of people who assume their fake price is the real price and reprice them for their real price. as a casual seller: * you buy 6 premium tabs * set them each to a fixed buyout buyout price of 1ex, 70c, 50, 30c, 10c and 3c * you drop new items into the 1ex tab * every day you play you lower the price of each tab (1ex to 70c and so on), vendor everything in the 3c tab and put it at 1ex the only mistake you can do is pricing your items too cheap, then you just reprice the item after getting insta spammed with buy requests. it#s not mandatory to sell for the advertised price. offline

" This is honestly the best way for an inexperienced (selling-wise) player. OP: If you knew how pricing works, you would realize it is not possible to automate the advantage that veteran players have. If you want to profit from trade, you have to learn what makes something valuable because there is no shortcut to that. Even if your suggestion somehow can magically work (which it can't due to the complexity of valuing) you would still need to know what to pick up, unless you plan on picking up every single rare and running it through this gadget. If that's your plan, you will get much richer by running maps as fast as you can, picking up nothing but currency, and minimizing your downtime in your hideout. |

Thanks for your ideas,
The multi-tab with prices is a very good idea. :) |
