How to use spellslinger?

I have not used spellslinger skill before so I am testing it in standard right now but I am not sure how to activate it.

I only linked one spell gem(spellslinger == spell gem) but mana reservation is already at 150%.


Is this normal or unintended result from the change in mana reservation?

So spell slinger is one of those skills that they didn't explain very well. You need to have spell slinger support linked to a spell ( duh right ? ) Then you use a separate wand skill, like Barrage, to activate the spell slingers you have equipped. Note that the wand skill can be in any slot in your gear, usually not in the same piece with the spell slingers. You want to spec heavily in mana reservation so the mana hold isn't too bad.

Something like....
Hands : Spell slinger - Desecrate
Feet : Spell slinger - volatile dead
Wand : Barrage ( level 1 only )

Fire barrage to make Desecrate and volatile dead both activate. I use barrage only because it actually fires 3 times and will trigger several SS gems.
