How does the new Elemental Equilibrium work for Tri-Element Builds & other sources of Exposure?
I am curious how the new Elemental Equilibrium will be working with builds that have all elements represented. I've been trying to find any information on the matter, but everyone is only talking about other build types atm. The old EE was crystal clear on its function since it was an effect separate from exposure and had clearly defined mechanics.
Will the new EE apply the exposures at the same time, in sequence? Are there internal cooldowns for the applications of the exposure, as in, will the first element apply exposure that lasts a given time before it can be overwritten or will it be immediately overwritten? What happens with other sources of exposure like the Archdemon Crown that applies all exposure types at once from a given skill? How does it interact with it? ~ I am Wreaclast middle class and proud of it! ~ Poor investment =/= entitlement to compensation. ~ Build smart, build S-mart! Last bumped on Oct 19, 2021, 8:44:02 AM

"My understanding is Exposures are inflicted simultaneously. When you hit with 3 elements at once, there are no other elements left so no Exposure inflicts. I don't think there is a overwritten cooldown. Triple exposures (like from the helm you mentioned) count for every Exposure so it will be overwritten in any case. I don't think aura-like inflicted exposures like from Avatar of the Veil (Raider) can be overwritten though. |

For the first question, the answer is clear: A Hit that deals fire, cold and lightning damage will remove any Exposure on an enemy.
All exposures will be applied at the same time, with the hit. Also, the original EE did not had a "cooldown", so each and every hit will work on the enemy's exposures. I could speculate that Exposures will still be on if the enemy is suffering from an exposure given because of a "nearby exposure" effect (like Avatar of the Veil), since you will take away all of the exposures then re-apply them with those "nearby exposure" effects. Depending on the order, for the "what happens with archdemon and a full-elemental hit", there are two possibilities: > Archdemon's Crown enters first, applying -10% exposure. EE kicks in, removing all exposures > EE enters first, removing all exposures, then Archdemon's Crown kicks in, apply a -10% Exposure to all elements |

Thank you for the comments, I was hoping they did something to account for this, otherwise I am going from 25% ele-pen on my stabilizing sceptre to it being an entirely bricked ability if its as written, more so because it potentially locks out the use of other exposure sources. I wish the devs gave more detailed information about changes that have interactions like this.
