Is it just me or does scourge just look like reverse breach?
Breach:
-open portal -mobs spawn in a arena -kill mobs in a set time -get loot Scourge: -go in portal -you spawn in mob arena -kill mobs in a set time -get loot "but did you see all the changes in the patch notes" Defenses are worthless when you can get randomly one shot. The only thing that really matters is damage. Last bumped on Oct 16, 2021, 8:32:52 AM

It's basically Breach 7.0 actually. Breach 2.0 was Abyss. Breach 3.0 was Legion. Breach 4.0 was Delirium. Breach 5.0 was Ritual. Breach 6.0 was Ultimatum. And now Breach 7.0 is Scourge. Yep...
They keep remixing the Breach formula cos some people seem to love it. And then intersperse the occasional somewhat more complex league for those who sway that way (like me). But you need to keep the pure action junkies happy, so we'll likely keep getting ever more versions of Breach ad infinitum throughout this games' entire history. Tbf, there are differences between each of them in terms of what they reward you. But the combat mechanic of a generic monster closet is the same. Although I did like how Ultimatum spiced it up a bit with the choices of effects we had to deal with while in combat. Ritual doesn't count - there was no choice, and the effects we so weak they barely mattered anyway (I've long wished they'd just combine Ultimatum and Ritual - with the formers' combat and the latters' reward) |

" Do you know people have made builds even prior to this patch that have tanked even the biggest one-shots in the game? And by that I mean telegraphed 1-shots by endgame bosses that we're meant to manually dodge. Yeah, they've been tanked, even prior to 3.16. Defenses are only worthless on people with your mindset. " This sentence almost made my spit out my coffee. This is pure gold. It's like saying "eating is worthless, because you can randomly die from starvation". If you already view defenses as worthless, OF COURSE you will be oneshot often. Chicken, egg, more coffee. Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you. Last edited by Phrazz#3529 on Oct 16, 2021, 8:23:28 AM

I see it as a switchable Delirium 2.0.
Both mechanics change the visuals of the environment of large parts of the zone/maps contrary to Breach which is a way smaller circle. I expect the same annoying monsters as Delirium and Ultimatum , which would mean lots of cast-on-death effects and rare monster aura stacking. Masterpiece of 3.16 lore "A mysterious figure appears out of nowhere, trying to escape from something you can't see. She hands you a rusty-looking device called the Blood Crucible and urges you to implant it into your body." Only usable with Ethanol Flasks Last edited by gandhar0#5532 on Oct 16, 2021, 8:26:23 AM

They are different in the fact that you can bake items for some really powerful scourge mods like 100% increased Global Defenses from tier 3. Breaches don't offer that kind of reward. But ye other than that, it has the same kind of dynamic, kill otherworldly mobs on a timer, get loot.
