The saddest part is how they only removed good or decent maps and decided to keep all crap maps no one likes to run.
Example of somewhat enjoyable maps to run that got removed: - Beach - Burial Chambes - City Square - Pier - Ramparts - Shipyard - Mesa - Peninsula - Jungle Valley - Coves - Colonnade et.c. Meanwhile, they kept all the "crypt" maps that still are copies of eachother: - Maze - Dungeon - Necropolis - Cells - Cursed Crypt - Bone Crypt et.c. I understand removing maps that are copies of eachother (Channel and Waterworks et.c.). But the map selection process seems kinda dumb right now. GGG basically left all garbage maps that no one runs other than for map completion. The only "bad" map GGG removed from what I can see was Lava Chamber. |

- Dungeon - Necropolis - Cells - Cursed Crypt - Bone Crypt Agreed this list is bad. I'd also add museum to that list. Any of the tight door/hallways/backtracking maps are just terrible. Good news is run them once for the map credit and never run them again. |

At least Strand is not deleted from the existence.
Also agree that lots of bad indoor map layouts are still ingame that tend to brick certain league mechanics. Masterpiece of 3.16 lore "A mysterious figure appears out of nowhere, trying to escape from something you can't see. I hate the maps mentioned too but lets not forget that some builds work ONLY in the walled maps with tight corridors.
I would still gladly sacrifice all those builds that benefit in those for sake of more enjoyable maps in general. Especially because as it was mentioned league mechanics simply do not work in them. ritual with 0 monsters and only 1 ritual in whole map is just so funny thing to see. or legion spawning only like 15 normal monsters rest is deleted and sent to abyss But it is something to keep in mind, if you want to shotgun, hit wall, concentrate enemies in to small area, hide from enemies and place totem there tight maps are the way to go especially in hardcore you do not want to be in open map with many builds, because offscreen deaths are common.
