How to drain own mana?
Is there a good way to drain your own mana continuously without preventing you from performing other skills? Could be a gem, gear, whatever. The reason I want this effect is because I want to be able to keep up an effect of a hybrid flask constantly. Draining my own HP hasn't been a great solution (there aren't great options). So looking for a way to drain mana

There are various ways, but it depends on how much mana your build has and how much it can afford to lose.
E.g. Omeyocan drains 7% per second, but you need some recovery to maintain that. If you build enough mana recovery, you can even do something like Agnostic + RF, though that probably has a fairly high cost overall. Even Blood Rage or RF with MoM might be enough, but then there is the potential that taking actual damage would prevent you from being able to use skills. You could theoretically counter that by getting Eldritch Battery and Divine Flesh as well as some source of ES regeneration or leech to sustain your actual skills. That way, damage would not lower the ES you spend for skills, but you would never be at full mana. You also might be able to do something like Vortex + Archmage (and probably some other supports). It would not interrupt your skills, but you would use a significant portion of your mana on a regular basis. And if you run low, you just have to not use it. |

Not what you're asking but the first thing that jumped out to me re: keeping a hybrid flask up is to use petrified blood, have some unreserved health above 50%, and a constant degen that can easily overpower your hybrid flask such as blood rage or righteous fire. That way other forms of life recovery can be as powerful as you like and it won't interfere.
Another thing that isn't what you asked but tangentially related is the manabond skill. It costs mana but will never be unusuable due to low mana, so with very poor mana recovery you'll always be sub 100% mana. Probably not a solution unless it's already your main skill or you use it as a brand + some way to not use mana for your main skill (lifetap/etc). " Why will it not be unusable on low mana? Unless I am missing something, its mana cost should be based on your maximum mana, not your current mana. This is why the main idea for builds with it was about using Mjölner, which does not require paying the mana cost. |

It costs a percentage of *current* mana.

" Since you were so confident, I thought you had an actual reasoning behind that statement, but because you did not, I bothered to check it myself, and it indeed is not a percentage of the current mana. The damage is based on the current missing mana, but the cost is based on the maximum. You can test it yourself fairly easily by just using Manabond with high mana cost multiplier gems in a Tabula Rasa. If it was a percentage of your current mana, you would never run out to the point of stopping to cast, but you do. |

Hrm, guess my memory is wrong; I made a manabond character early this league (though abandoned it) and presumed that's how it worked.

Arcane Cloak spends about half your current Mana.

Hybrid flasks can use Enduring prefix. Depending on why you want to maintain the flask and your ability to generate flask charges, this may be viable.
Otherwise any source where you take damage coupled with MoM. |
