PSA: Delirium Scaling Chart

I find it interesting how this is like the polar opposite of deep Delve. In Delve mobs damage scales out the wazoo, such that even a white wolf is able to 1-shot you, but their survivability scales more modestly. Hence why deep Delvers build full glass cannon builds to deal with it. Delirium scales the other way - monster damage scales modestly but survivability scales out the wazoo. Theoretically this means that tank builds are well suited to it, albeit few people do that as it'd take forever to clear that way. Still tho, I kinda like how GGG chose to implement the former (which is far more threatening) in a separate game area, while the latter approach (which is more forgiving) was chosen for the game zones more players will find themselves in.

Ok, so i did some tests on delirium maps to find out monster's damage/survivability scaling.



TLDR table:

Delirious Increased damage Reduced damage taken
20% ~7% ~19%
40% ~13% ~38%
60% ~18% ~58%
80% ~24% ~77%
100% 30% ~96%


Method: just took 1-hit skill without damage spread and went to the reflect map (without mods that could interfere with the calculations, i.e. Point blank, vulnerability)

Here is skill stats:

r/pathofexile - Delirium scaling
the character have 90% phys overwhelm and 0% damage mitigation. 0 leech/regen. 0 tethers on target

Monster's damage reduction scaling:

Who thought of it? Probably people that are aware that this game needs scaled content like this, to offer a challenge and a carrot to the most dedicated players.

Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.
they shoulda made 2/4/6/8/10% of mob attacks instant matching the delirium tiers and it would shake out more builds than reducing damage by 96%.

They've got a lot to learn about aspirational content but maybe it was the cheapest solution, infact it almost certainly is the cheapest solution. Would love to see them revisit it properly they could actually make it better for those that want more as well as filtering the requirements better.
