PUNISHMENT CURSE EFFECTIVE DAMAGE INCREASE

has anyone calculated this? i gave it a try, and got 28% more damage. only for the damage taken increase part of the skill, not taking into account the overkill dmg reflect.

please share if you calculated the same / a different value, or if you know of an official value.

10% of Overkill Damage from Killing Blows on Cursed Enemies is Reflected to other Enemies as Physical Damage
- Every 10% curse effectiveness this will go up by 1%

Cursed Enemies take (50-88)% increased Damage while on Low Life
- Every 2% curse effectiveness this will go up by 1% at gem L1
- Every 1-2% curse effectiveness this will go up by 1% at gem L20

20% Quality will grant 10% curse effectiveness = 8% increased damage taken at L20

Any personal more multiplier is completely build specific on value. A 20/20 gem would give ~48% more damage without any other source of increased damage taken. However, throw a L20 Skitterbots into the mix (17% shock) and the curse only grants ~41%. Mix culling Strike in there, and you gut 20% of the uptime. Also note end game bosses have 67% curse resistance.

hmm, ive never heard of this. so, if i also use snipers mark lvl 21, this 48% more damage from punishment gets reduced? if so, to what?

The amount doesn't get reduced, only your effective yield. There are no diminishing returns or anything, but the more you stack on any individual modifier, the less effective addtionk staring becomes, and the more effective other modifiers are.

A 20/20 Punishment provides 96% increased damage taken when <50% life and no other sources of increased effect of curses. If the enemy also had a 20/20 Skitterbots (17% shock effect) and in range of the Elder helmet mod "nearby enemies take increased physical damage," all these mods stack, and the enemy now takes 26% increased physical damage taken ≥50% life and 122% <50% life. Since you are converting "increased" to "more" that translates to:

=(Base Damage + Shock + Helmet Mod + Punishment) / (Base Damage + Shock + Helmet Mod)
= (100% + 17% + 9% + 96%) / (100% + 17% + 9%)
= (1 + 1.22) / (1 + .26)
= 2.22 / 1.26
~= 1.76 or 76% more

Because that 76% only has an uptime during low life it is reduced by half making the curse effectively granting 38% more damage overall.

When fighting bosses who only receive 34% of curse effect due to resistance, punishment now only grants ~25% increase or 12.5% more overall. Still very powerful but not broken.

While I didn't do the math for it, you can see how Sniper's Mark also affects it. I also never factored in Doom from a self-cast Punishment.
