Game Server lost connection to Realm

Was running my first temple of the league, and suddenly my ping started to sky rocket upwards of a few thousand, it continued to fluctuate for a minute or two and then the instance crashed with an error report that stated "game server lost connection to realm". In my haste I didn't take a screenshot of the login screen, as I wanted to see if my instance was still there, it was not. This happened like 10-15 minutes from posting this.
I was connected to the Washington Realm, and hadn't had any other connection issues so far today. Don't really know if this should be posted as a crash or something else but it seemed server side since I did not have any issues with other processes on my computer. And my instance crashed. On and on and on these crashes of your game servers!!!!
Five minutes ago Amsterdam server lost contact to the realm. Did a great delirious map with heavy investment on scarabs etc. Now all portals are gone! This happens so mamy times in the last 6 month. Aren't you able to provide stable servers. Doesn't matter if i am connected to Frankfurt or Amsterdam. Happens at least one time a week. What is the problem here that we lose all loot and portals ??? I am really upset atm. |

ggg's server architecture consists of dozens of gameservers around the world where people login and play and some master servers + the databases in dallas/texas.
"gameserver lost contact to the realms" means a gameserver couldn't contact the master servers in a certain timeframe. when this happens, the gameserver resets and your game state is set back to the last savepoint the game made for you automatically and were able to send to the master servers. which you can force by switching instances and using high value currency. so if you find a mirror, go into your hideout asap. --- nothing you can do to prevent those rollbacks, the internet is a unreliable area with many companies involved which ggg has no contract with. age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!

Fix your servers please. Whereas in previous leagues this used to be almost a non-issue since 3.21 it is happening multiple times on a daily basis (Amsterdam, Paris, Frankfurt for me). Juice map - enter map - game lost contact - be happy about losing a map and currency in the best case, be more happy about losing found items / character progression in the worst case. Something must have happened this league that is causing this massive amount of problems. GGGs silence is frustrating, if they do not have full details yet they could at least let the community know that issues are known and / or being investigated. |
