Im really angry to find out that "Typically" porcupine map spawns aint true to their writing.

Porcupine goliaths and their variants have always been able to spawn on Shore map and several other maps. If this is the first time that you have encountered them on the Shore, then be thankful. I've had them all over the place since forever. Not a problem.

They can also show up if "inhabited by animals" is a mod.

Correct me if im wrong because years ago they changed it. Unless they changed it back at some point, but when i played they changed it so any monster can essentially spawn in any zone meaning there is no reliable way to assume whats going to be in the zone.
This is a big reason why people dont farm x maps anymore, back in the day people would farm maps that spawned easier monsters like skeletons because they knew that map could only spawn x monster variety but they changed that ages ago because they realized that it wasnt healthy for the game. Harvest sucks! But look at my decked out gear two weeks in!

+1 I also thought anywhere could spawn them now, i've had spikebeasts so regularly i don't really think about it anymore.
