New Runic Monsters and Curses Confusion
Hi, I am an Occ witch who is running Forbidden Rite and my main skill, and my chest piece is doedre's skin for AOE curses. The chest piece for anyone unaware is any curse socketed into the chest, it is turned into an AOE curse aura around these effigy's you summon. This normally is great for throwing down into a pack and mass temp chaining, or despair cursing mobs. I have never had an issue with the mass cursing before this Expedition league. I have Profane Bloom so Hexproof doesn't matter to me but I will go on to my issue.
The thing I am asking and seeking insight about is why these new "Runic" monsters are 100% ignoring my curses, and mark I try to apply to them. I just got done doing a logbook and noticed they were inconsistently not being cursed by my effigy's and sometimes just ignored my damage. The weird part is after I died trying to figure out what was going on, I went back in and pulled three little white runic monsters away from the large pack. I kited them around trying to curse them over and over but sometimes they would get the curse icons on their heads and sometimes they wouldn't almost at random. It is the same with my forbidden rite, they would randomly take damage from me and be chunked or sometimes nothing at all. Any insight to this will be helpful. Last bumped on Jul 28, 2021, 5:31:19 AM

some monsters are curse immune, caused by remnant modifiers. read the mods of the remnants you take
immune != hexproof so your occultist ability will not override this mod IGN: Eric_Lindros

Where does it say that they are immune? I looked on the mods of the mobs I dragged out and they had nothing about curses or any remnant on them, only like "Vul to chaos, resist cold and fire" etc.

it does not show on monsters I think, but one of the remnant mods certainly grants immunity

Thank you, I will have to keep an eye out for that then, not sure why that isnt important enough to be listed under the monsters mod list.

It shows on the modifiers you're detonating, and there's a little treasure icon bottom right of screen to show you the lonnng list of stuff that will/does apply to all the runic monsters once you're about to/have hit detonate.
I think because there are so many, and because they apply to all the runic monsters, they don't get shown on the monster itself, whereas individual modifiers they spawn with do show. The immune to particular damage shows up on the detonation boxes in yellow text, but it's still easy to forget to check and discover you're suddenly fighting a giant pack of fire-immune mobs as a fire damage character.
